A conveyor, such as a baggage reclaim or air-side collection carousel, having a moving surface with overlapping flat plates. The plates are horizontal in some portions of the conveyor, and are tilted in at least one other portion of the conveyor, with transition portions in-between. Articles on the conveyor are thus urged towards one side of the moving surface for easier removal of articles from the conveyor.
Abstract:
A modular conveyor belt formed of rows of belt modules pivotally interlinked by transverse pivot rods and specially adapted for following a curved conveyor path. The modules include a top, product conveying surface and a bottom, sprocket-driven surface. The belt modules have a plurality of first link ends disposed in the direction of travel of the conveyor belt and a plurality of second link ends disposed in the opposite direction. Transverse holes in the link ends are aligned to accommodate a pivot rod. When the link ends of the consecutive rows of side by side modules are intercalated, the pivot rod serves as a hinge pin in a hinged joint between consecutive interlinked rows. To permit the belt to flex sidewise, the openings in the first link ends are slotted longitudinally in the direction of belt travel. In order to prevent fingers from penetrating the grid, the belt modules have a cross-rib with an extended portion in the longitudinal direction designed so as to allow the link ends to undercut the cross-rib when collapsing and to reduce the gap between adjacent modules.

A conveyor apparatus includes first and second groups of fins which are spaced along the conveying direction to provide spaces sufficient to hold packs therein. The fins in each group are divided into first and second sets. The first and second fin groups are mounted to first and second conveyor chain pairs, respectively, and moved through pack loading and unloading stations. Stepping motors drive the first and second chain pairs independently. A controller causes a fin set after being loaded or unloaded to be forwarded to the unloading or loading station at a speed higher than the speed at which the fin sets move through the loading station.
Abstract:
A modular roller-top conveyor belt constructed of a series of rows of belt modules having hinge elements at opposite ends of each row. The hinge elements of each row are interleaved with the hinge elements of an adjacent row and interlinked by hinge pins to form an endless conveyor belt. Each of the belt modules includes a body section extending between opposite ends of each row in the direction of belt travel. Cavities formed in at least some of the modules open onto an upper conveying surface of the belt. Rollers residing in the cavities protrude onto the upper conveying surface to engage conveyed articles in rolling, low-friction contact. The rollers may be cylindrical rollers that rotate about axles, spherical balls that rotate in all directions, or caster-like roller assemblies. The rollers may be arranged to rotate about axes in the direction of belt travel for side-off transfer of articles, about axes oblique to the direction of belt travel for side justification, or about axes transverse to the direction of belt travel for low backline pressure.

A belt conveyor whose article-conveying characteristics can be changed as the belt is running. The conveyor belt includes a plurality of movable assemblies supporting an article-supporting element and an adjustable element. The adjustable element coacts with an adjustment control element supported in the conveyor frame as the belt is running. The coaction causes the adjustable element to move the article-supporting element to provide a different article-conveying characteristic to articles supported at the conveying surface of the belt in zones defined by the adjustment control elements.

A product transport system which is located predominantly within a chamber 10 (for example, an industrial oven chamber) and which comprises a pair of parallel, spaced apart conveyor chains 19. The conveyor chains are arranged to convey a plurality of transversely extending product support trays 15 through the chamber 10. Pairs of transversely spaced carriers 31 are provided to carry respective ones of the trays 15. Chain sprockets 20 are located within the chamber in alignment with the respective conveyor chains and the sprockets 20 are arranged to direct the respective conveyor chains through changes in direction (including through forward-and-return horizontal passes) within the chamber 10. Rotatable guide members 28 in the form of toothed wheels are positioned laterally adjacent to but out of alignment with respective ones of the chain sprockets 20, and a subsidiary chain drive is provided for driving each guide member 28 in synchronism with an adjacent one of the chain sprockets 20. Each of the carriers 31 has a first spigot 34 that is connected to an associated one of the conveyor chains 19 and has a second (relatively shorter) spigot 38 that is positioned to engage with one of the guide members 28 when a portion of the conveyor chain 19 to which the first spigot 34 is connected is being directed around an adjacent one of the chain sprockets 20.

Abstract:
An external guide assembly for reducing the frictional drag force acting on a side-flexing modular link conveyor belt, particularly along curves or bends in the conveyor system. The guide assembly is formed from one or more roller assemblies, each having first and second rollers that provide external bearing surfaces for the forward and return runs of the belt. The rollers prevent the belt from drifting to the inside of the curve, and thus serve to reduce the frictional drag force between the belt and the guide rail on the outside of the curve. To form the guide assembly, pairs of articulated members interconnect the roller assemblies and allow the relative angular position of each to be selectively adjusted for mounting along any curve. The rollers may optionally include a peripheral lip which provides additional support for the guide links of the belt.

The invention refers to a conveyor track with rollers for transport goods—in particular to a track with small-diameter rollers for workpiece carriers—provided, seen in the conveying direction, with multiple, consecutively arranged, braced support rollers which are a component of a side bar and bolt-equipped roller chain, whose bolts jut out sideways over the side bars and on which conveyor track support elements that proceed in the conveying direction are supported, and where the support rollers jut out over the side bars and the support elements in the direction of the transport goods. In order to create a conveyor track with transporter rollers, in particular a track with small-diameter rollers for workpiece carriers, as well as a roller chain which—basically—allows a constructural simplification of the roller placement in the conveyor track, it is proposed that the bolts of the roller chain be supported directly by the support element or directly via intermediate elements placed on the support element.

A tire conveyor and lift apparatus for conveying, lifting and orienting fuel tires for injection into a rotating cement kiln by force or by gravity. The apparatus brings tires from a tire source by a variable speed conveyor belt to a gate or alternatively vertical guiding rollers that regulate the flow of tires to the lift. Hooked lift arms engage the tire through the central hole and move vertically along a guide. The linear lift arms are mounted to an endless chain which is supported by upper and lower sprockets which are driven by a motor. The top of the guide is curved and has the curvature that approximates the circumference of the top sprocket. The tire is brought along the guide and released to output rollers connected to a feed chute which is aligned with a rotating kiln.
