摘要: A gas bag for vehicule occupant restraining systems comprises an envelope of several fabric sections, the gas permeability of which differs, despite which all fabric sections of the envelope can be fabricated of textile material having the same consistency, particularly having the same thread density (set) when the gas permeability of the fabric is defined with due regard to the tension condition between warp and weft threads of the inflated gas bag and taking into account the dynamic behaviour of the gas permeability as a function of the weave and crimp. Fabric sections having the same consistency can be stitched with no problem in series production and the seams are of high structural strength.

摘要: An airbag of an airbag restraint system mounted on an automotive vehicle and adapted to protect a vehicle passenger in a serious vehicle collision. The airbag is formed of a cloth which is basically constituted of warp and weft yarns made of a high melting point polymer material. Low melting point polymer yarns are woven in the cloth in a manner to extend along the warp and weft yarns. The low melting point polymer yarns are located at predetermined intervals, and have a melting point lower than that of the high melting point polymer material. The low melting point polymer yarns melt upon heating in a heat treatment so as to be welded to the high warp and weft yarns thereby securely binding the warp yarns together and the weft yarns together.

摘要: A woven fabric is wove using warps (6) and wefts (7) having coated threads (6a) and (7a), respectively, every other thread, with the remaining threads being uncoated threads (6b), (6c). The coated threads (6a), (7a) are melted by a heat setting treatment, thereby fusing the coated threads (6a) in the warps (6) to the wefts (7) and the coated threads (7a) in the wefts (7) to the warps (6). The woven fabric becomes an uncoated woven fabric on which a thin coating film has not been formed. Accordingly, the uncoated woven fabric has a predetermined amount of air permeability. The threads will not become frayed or tattered and the amount of air permeability will not change even when the uncoated woven fabric is cut.

摘要: An airbag restraint system for protecting a vehicle passenger in the event of a serious vehicle collision. The airbag restraint system includes a bag-shaped section which is supplied with high pressure gas generated by a gas generator. The bag-shaped section is formed by being integrally woven under a pattern weaving and includes a doubly woven main part having front and rear side woven cloth members which are separate from each other to define a chamber to be supplied with the high pressure gas. A singly woven outer peripheral part is formed around the doubly woven main part and has an outer peripheral woven cloth member which is integral with the front and rear side woven cloth members of the doubly woven main part. The doubly woven main part and the singly woven outer peripheral part are continuously and integrally woven, thereby reducing the number of component parts of the airbag while facilitating production of the airbag.

摘要: An improved fabric material for producing woven air bags utilized for protecting riders in vehicles. The fabric material is composed of a plurality of tubular weave portions formed along the warp direction and a stitched portion formed between two adjacent tubular weave portions. Each stitched portion is provided with at least single small tubular weave construction formed along a warp direction. The warp yarns forming the face fabric of a large tubular weave portion and the warp yarns forming the back fabric of the large tubular weave portion are respectively used as the warp yarns for forming the back fabric of the successive small tubular weave construction and the warp yarns for forming the face fabric of the successive small tubular weave construction. Woven air bags are produced by cutting the central portion of the stitched portion along a weft direction. The fabric material may be coated with a thin layer of coating resin material.

摘要: A woven fabric having a plurality of layers, there being outer layers and one or more intermediate layers between the outer layers, tying the outer layers together in such a way as to provide pockets extending warpwise in a generally honeycomb relation to prevent the outer layers from spreading beyond a limited distance when inflated, the opposite edges of the fabric being brought together by one outer layer joining another outer layer opposite it and providing a larger chamber which when inflated will provide a bulge at the opposite edges of the fabric extending lengthwise or warpwise of the fabric.
