Abstract:
A printing system and apparatus assembly that incorporates a transparent platen for supporting and scanning a first image therethrough. The transparent platen includes a translucent display layer having an array of light devices that comprise organic light emitting diodes. A user interface of the system is coupled to the transparent platen with a processor. Based on input and/or data provided at the user interface, an image is displayed through the platen with the display layer.
Abstract:
An image reading device includes: an original table having a stationary original reading area and a moving original reading area on its top surface; an image reading unit provided inside the original table and moving the reading line in the direction of the width of the stationary original reading area and to the moving original reading area with the direction of the length of the stationary original reading area as the reading line; an original cover openably and closably provided on the original table so as to cover at least the stationary original reading area; and an ADF having an original conveyance path leading from an original tray by way of the moving original reading area to an original output tray. The image reading device reads originals of sizes larger than the readable stationary original size without any size increase of the device.
Abstract:
Various methods and devices involving reprographic copy stands are described. A reprographic copy stand may include a first support element configured to support a first cover of a book at a first plurality of angles. The reprographic copy stand may also include a second support element configured to support a second configured to support a second cover of the book at a second plurality of angles. The reprographic copy stand may include a platform configured to couple with the first support element at a first plurality of positions and the second support element at a second plurality of positions. The distance between the support elements may be variable according to the position of the first support selected from the first plurality of positions and the position of the second support selected from the second plurality of positions such that a plurality of book binding thicknesses are accommodated by the distance.
Abstract:
Provided is a reading apparatus that includes a light source that emits a light to a source material and a plurality of image pickup elements that each receive the light reflected by the source material, to thereby read the source material. The plurality of image pickup elements are each located at different positions and each mounted at different angles with respect to a surface to be read of the source material. The reading apparatus compares read values acquired from the image pickup elements, so as to decide the property of the image expressed on the source material.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus to form an image on a recording medium is provided. The image forming apparatus includes a housing, an image forming unit, an image reader unit, an ejecting space to catch the recording medium, a pickup opening to expose the ejecting space, and a frame assembly to hold the image forming unit and the image reader unit. The housing includes an operation unit, which is configured to form an upper edge of the pickup opening. An enhancement member extending along a widthwise direction to bridge over the ejecting space is arranged in a lower position in the operation unit. The frame assembly includes a first support member and a second support member, which are arranged in widthwise ends of the ejecting space. The enhancement member is connected to the first support member and to the second support member at the widthwise ends thereof.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus which can reduce a change of color balance due to the exchange of the optical unit. The image reading apparatus comprises an original glass plate on which an original is placed, and an optical unit adapted to move in parallel to the original glass plate below the original glass plate, the optical unit comprising an illumination light source adapted to illuminate the original placed on the original glass plate, and a charge coupled device adapted to read the reflected light from the original placed on the original glass plate, and the optical unit being exchangeable with a spare optical unit. The image reading apparatus retains thickness information of the original glass tableplate. The spare optical unit retains change information of an image resolution of the image reading apparatus due to a change of an optical path length of the spare optical unit replacing the optical unit.
Abstract:
An image sensor support device comprising a foot assembly releasably coupled with respect to a base and an image sensor mount rotatably coupled with respect to the foot assembly. The image sensor mount is rotatably secured to an elongated stem assembly and the stem assembly is rotatably secured to the foot assembly.
Abstract:
A business card case is mountable on a notebook computer. The business card case has a receptacle for storing plural business cards. The business card case includes a protrusion part, a supporting part and a restriction structure. The protrusion part is inserted in a recess of a base of the notebook computer, so that the business card case is fixed on the notebook computer. The business card to be shot by an image pickup device of the notebook computer is supported on the supporting part. By adjusting the restriction structure of the business card case and rotating said upper cover of the notebook computer, a better shooting angle is defined between the image pickup device and the document.
Abstract:
An image reader includes: a rectangular substrate; a photoelectric conversion element that is mounted on one surface of the substrate; a connector that is mounted on the other surface of the substrate so as to be closer to one end face of the substrate than a position on the substrate where the photoelectric conversion element is mounted, and is connected to a signal line; a support member; and a restricting member that is provided on the substrate so as to be closer to the one end face of the substrate in the longitudinal direction than the position where the substrate is supported by the support member, when another connector is fitted to at least the connector, the restricting member coming into contact with the one surface of the substrate and restricting the deformation of the substrate in a direction in which the another connector is fitted.
Abstract:
A rotation of an original cover and a hinge member in a vertical setting state of an image reading apparatus is locked by a simple operation. A locking mechanism which fixes the hinge member to the image reading apparatus is provided. The locking mechanism is fixed in a state in which the image reading apparatus has vertically been set by using its side surface on the hinge side as a setting surface and its fixture is released in a state in which the other surface is used as a setting surface. The locking mechanism has a construction in which a movable lock member provided in the hinge engages with the lock receptacle of the image reading apparatus upon vertical setting.
