Abstract: An image forming apparatus including an image forming unit, a fixing unit, a reading unit, a reference member, and a controller is described. The image forming unit forms an image and a detection image on a sheet. The detection image is used for detecting geometric characteristics of an image to be formed on a sheet by the image forming unit. The fixing unit fixes the image and the detection image formed by the image forming unit on the sheet. The reading unit reads the detection image on the sheet. The controller adjusts geometric characteristics of the image to be formed on a sheet based on a reading result of the detection image by the reading unit, and controls the reading unit to read the reference member and executes shading correction based on a reading result of the reference member.

Abstract: A printer has a print engine to print images represented by a series of print data on the plurality of printing areas one by one. When an image printed on the printing area is determined to be a low quality image, the controller stops printing and reprint an image corresponding to the low quality image and images corresponding to discard-target images which are being printed or having been printed on the printing areas located upstream in the feeding direction with respect to the printing area on which the NG image has been printed on a new printing area located upstream in the feeding direction with respect to a printing position of the print engine in an order of the print data. The particular image printer is configured to overprint the particular image on the printing area on which the NG image or the discard-target image is printed.

Abstract: An image reading device includes a loading section, a reader, and a document feeder. The loading section receives loading of a document and an identification medium. The reader reads the document and the identification medium. The document feeder conveys the document to the reader. The loading section includes a second contact glass and a medium restriction section. The second contact glass receives loading of the identification medium. The medium restriction section restricts a position of the identification medium loaded on the second contact glass. The document being conveyed by the document feeder has opposite end portions and a central portion therebetween. The opposite end portions respectively include opposite ends of the document in a direction perpendicular to a conveyance direction of the document. Only the central portion, among the opposite end portions and the central portion, of the document comes in contact with the medium restriction section.

Abstract: The presently disclosed inventive concepts encompass capturing video data using a mobile device, streaming the captured video data to a server for processing of the video data in real-time or near-real time, and providing the server's processing result to the mobile device for additional analysis and/or processing of the captured video data, the processing result, or both. In one embodiment an image processing server is configured to: process, in real time, input streamed to the server from a mobile device, the input comprising one or more frames of digital video data; and output a result of processing the input to the mobile device. In another embodiment, a method includes capturing video data using a mobile device, streaming the video data to an image processing server, receiving a processing result from the server, and further processing the captured video data and/or the processing result using the mobile device.
