The encoding means includes a separable setting means, an answer selector means for selecting an answer to a given problem and a programming network that is programmed by the separable setting means to select the number of answers for each problem, the problem-correct answer sequence, the mode of operation and define whether or not an answer selected and registered is correct. Also disclosed are the mechanical and electronic details of each of the means, as well as embellishments of each of the means that facilitate use of the system.
