Abstract:
A positioning system of guide elements of a conveyor of articles comprises: at least one guide positioning unit comprising a guide positioning element adapted to be operatively associated with a respective guide element for the positioning thereof; a system of traction-transmitting cables operatively associated with the guide positioning unit, for transmitting traction forces; at least one traction unit associated with the system of traction-transmitting cables for exerting traction forces on the system of traction-transmitting cables. The guide positioning unit is either a driven guide positioning unit (133), wherein the guide positioning element is caused to be moved by the traction forces transmitted by the system of traction-transmitting cables, or a driving guide positioning unit, comprising a motor group associated with the guide positioning element. The system of traction-transmitting cables comprises in the case of a driving unit, at least one traction-transmitting cable for transmitting traction forces between the traction unit and the driving unit; in the case of a driven unit, the system of traction-transmitting cables comprises at least one first traction-transmitting cable and at least one second traction-transmitting cable for transmitting respective first and second traction forces, respectively causing the guide positioning element to be moved in a first direction and in a second direction.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an installation for filling and packaging hollow bodies (12) comprising stations (20, 22, 24, 26) for filling and packaging said bodies and a device for transferring the latter between an intake station (18) for the bodies in the transfer device, the filling and packaging stations, and an outlet station (19) for the filled and packaged bodies, the transfer device comprising a motorised endless conveyor (16) including an outgoing side (32) opposite which are arranged the filling and conditioning stations and the outlet station (19), and a return side (34). The return side (34) extends above the outgoing side (32). The invention is useful in particular for filling and packaging bottles or flasks.

Abstract:
The conveyor comprises two spaced-apart under-neck guides (3) along which articles are designed to be transported by being suspended via their collars (2) on the under-neck guides (3), and also a longitudinal stop (6) which is mounted above the under-neck guides (3) and which serves to limit the up stroke available to the articles between the under-neck guides (3). In a preferred embodiment, the top abutment is in the form of a stop (6) having an abutment-forming bottom longitudinal face (6a) in which there is formed a longitudinal central channel (6b) of width (L) that is less than the diameter (D) of an article at its top end (1d).
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for conveying articles, particularly articles such as containers, or bottles, having a neck portion with a neck ring thereon, along an article conveying path with the articles being urged along the article conveying path by article engaging members extending from a plurality of sections of an elongated movable member that extends from a guide along a guide path adjacent and horizontally offset from the article conveying path. The elongated movable member is preferably a chain having a plurality of links and article engagement preferably includes a flange that extends horizontally from each chain link into the article conveying path with adjacent flanges spaced from one another in the article conveying path whereby the chain links and flanges extending therefrom enable limited angular deviation of the chain during normal operation with the flanges engaging the lower edge of the neck ring of articles in the article conveying path so that the articles are urged along the article conveying path upon movement of the chain unit along the guide path.
Abstract:
A tool designed to grip a collar projecting from the mouth of a plastic bottle, comprises a main body which is made of stainless steel and has three inserts made of hardened steel attached by means of silver brazing. The body has an internal edge in the form of an arc of a circle that is designed to surround part of the mouth of the bottle. Each insert carries a pointed projection which extends upwards. The projections, which define a horizontal support plane on which the collar is designed to rest, are particularly resistant to wear. The tool is used especially in bottling machines in order to allow the bottles to be gripped and handled.
Abstract:
A container gripper, in particular for bottles, which is positionable on a movable part of a manipulating machine, and comprises a support structure internally carrying a pair of arms driven to rotate between a closed rest position in which they face each other to retain the container, and an open position in which they are withdrawn from each other to release the container; the support structure includes a U-shaped bracket (15) supporting a block (18) rotatable about the bracket, the arms being pivoted to the block and carrying, pivoted to the opposite end to their gripping end, a pair of connecting rods for rotating the arms, one of the connecting rods extending into a right-angled lever which can engage a cam fixed relative to the movable part of the manipulating machine, the connecting rods (31) being pivoted at their other ends to a pin slidable within a seat in the block by way of an interposed elastic element which when at rest maintains the arms in a closed position.
Abstract:
An air conveyor includes guides for stabilizing articles during conveyance and a plenum with apertures for providing pressurized air. In the preferred embodiment, the air conveyor also includes opposed spacers defining passages having a closed end and an open end. The passages are in fluid communication with the apertures of the plenum for directing streams of pressurized air through the open ends at the articles in a downstream direction to propel the articles. In another embodiment, channels defined in support structure for the guides form part of passageways for directing streams of pressurized air at an inclined and downstream angle to propel the articles. The guides are removable to allow the conveyor to be adapted to different sized and shaped articles. The air conveyor may also include an additional plenum and additional opposed spacers associated with the plenum for propelling the articles downstream. The angle of the slots can be larger for creating an article-to-article separation or smaller for creating a contiguous article flow.
Abstract:
A bottling machine for filling or capping containers having a generally circular cross section is provided. The bottling machine includes a rotatable star wheel having a plurality of peripheral individual removable neck support assemblies for receiving and moving the containers through the machine. Each of the individual neck support assemblies includes a pocket support for holding the containers and a snap locking mechanism including a piston on the neck support assembly cooperable with a clamp pin on the star wheel for releasably attaching each of the neck support assemblies to the star wheel.
Abstract:
Apparatus for conveying articles along a path of travel, the articles being of the type having an upper portion for being supported by the apparatus, a lower portion for being suspended from the apparatus and a low-angle transition portion therebetween, the apparatus comprising in combination a conveyor defining a path of travel along its length with neck rails for receiving the upper portions of the article to be conveyed, a pressure source operatively coupled to the conveyor to move the received articles to be conveyed, and control brushes coupled with respect to the conveyor along at least a portion of the path of travel to contact the lower portions of the bottles while being moved for providing a rearwardly directed angle to the articles to thereby abate the forward and rearward swinging of the articles.
