Abstract:
An apparatus for creating a digital photo album is disclosed. Digital photo albums may be created on the storage media by a method that includes the steps of displaying a group of images, receiving instructions to select a subset of those images and save the subset as an album, compressing the files corresponding to those images and saving the compressed files to the storage medium.
Abstract:
A personal computer displays a confirmation window on a screen of a monitor after capturing image data from a memory card of a digital camera. When the digital camera is not loaded with the memory card or when the image data does not exist in the memory card, the confirmation window is also shown to have a user select either of connection and disconnection with the digital camera. When “YES” is selected in the confirmation window, a CPU of the personal computer automatically executes unmount processing by which access to the memory card is put in an off-line state. After the unmount processing, the personal computer displays a permission window on the screen of the monitor to notify the user that disconnecting the digital camera is allowed.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting status data via a short-range data transmission connection between at least two electronic devices. The method comprises forming a notification of at least one type of the status data in the first electronic device, forming a status message of the status data of the first electronic device in the first electronic device, and transmitting the status message via the short-range data transmission connection to the second electronic device.
Abstract:
One digital copying machine is set as a parent machine and other copying machines are set as child machines. When documents are set both on an ADF of the parent machine and on an ADF of at least one child machine, a CPU of the parent machine performs two types of controls in parallel. In the first control, the ADF of the parent machine automatically feeds each of the original documents, the scanner of the parent machine reads images, and MEM-C or HDD of the parent machine stores the images. In the second control, the ADF of the child machine automatically feeds each of the original documents, the scanner of the child machine reads images, IEEE1394 1/F of the child machine transfers the images to the parent machine, and the MEM-C or the HDD of the parent machine stores the images.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a print control system is provided for use in a cellular telephone. A printing logic is configured to generate printer-ready data from a selected data to be printed. A viewing logic is configured to interpret and display the printer-ready data to simulate a printed state of the printer-ready data.
Abstract:
A digital imaging apparatus and a method for selecting a data transfer mode thereof is disclosed. The digital imaging apparatus comprises a main storage unit for storing a firmware for at least two data transfer modes for transmitting image data acquired through a camera to an external device in different manners, respectively, and also storing a descriptor including information for identifying the firmware, a mode selection unit for outputting a mode selection signal for a certain transfer mode for the at least two data transfer modes, a transmitting module for connecting to the external device to transmit the image data to the external device, the transmitting module sending the image data in different data transfer manners for each data transfer mode, and a controlling unit which controls the transmitting module so as to set the transfer type corresponding to the selected certain transfer mode if the mode selection signal is received from the mode selection unit, and reads out descriptor of firmware corresponding to the selected transfer mode from the main storage unit and provides the descriptor to the transmitting module if the transmitting module is connected to the external device. Therefore, the digital imaging apparatus can efficiently perform communications with the external device by selecting a mode for execution before being connected to the external device.
Abstract:
Connections among a host device such as a personal computer, a function device such as a digital camera, and a host/function apparatus that operates both as a host device and a function device, such as a printer, are enabled without disconnecting and reconnecting cables. A digital camera, a printer and a personal computer are connected with USB cables. The printer is enabled to switch operating modes among: a camera connection mode, in which it connects to the digital camera; a PC connection mode, in which it connects to the personal computer; and a pass through mode, in which the digital camera and the personal computer are connected to each other.
Abstract:
A digital camera for a computer includes a digital camera connected with a USB plug with an electric wire wholly surrounded with a flexible tube so that the digital camera may be adjusted in its direction and its angle according to need of taking pictures without need of adjusting the position of a computer to be connected with the digital camera. And a microphone and a shining lamp are further provided with the digital camera for optional use.
Abstract:
A camera is provided for taking a combined picture by combining an optically-input image with an electronically-downloaded image. The composition of the combined picture is controlled both by adjusting the direction of pointing of the camera to control the content of the optically-input image and by electronically controlling the positioning and/or size of the downloaded image.
Abstract:
A camera is provided for taking a combined picture by combining an optically-input image with an electronically-downloaded image. Such a camera permits a combined picture to be taken by a method in which at a site of interest an historical image, or a reference to it, is stored, and subsequently the camera is used both to optically capture a current image at the site, and to read the stored data whereby to directly, or by following a said reference, to download said historical image. The current and historical images are then combined in the camera, preferably under user control.
