Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a scanner apparatus. The scanner apparatus includes a light source, a reflecting means and an imaging means. The light source is located under an object, and radiates light so that the light is reflected from the object. The reflecting means is placed under the light source at a specific angle of inclination with respect to a surface of the object, and folds the path of the light when the light radiated by the light source is reflected from the object. The imaging means is placed along the path of the light reflected from the reflecting means, and condenses light reflected from the reflecting means and then acquires an image of the object.
Abstract:
A system for recording an image as digital data comprises a photosensor array and a plenoptic set, including a main lens and a lenticular grating, to enable the photosensor array to obtain plenoptic image data from the sheet. A subset of the plenoptic image data is selected, such as according to a predetermined object distance, to obtain image data for a focused image. The subset of the plenoptic image can be selected after the scanning, so that prescanning of an unusual-shaped image-bearing object, such as an open book, is avoided.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, systems components, and methods for viewing documents or objects using a webcam are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a support device is disclosed. The support device includes a stem configured to support an image sensor, a lower projection independently disposed upon a lower end of the stem and configured for coupling to a substantially flat surface, and an upper projection independently disposed upon an upper end of the stem and configured for receipt of an image sensor. In at least one embodiment a system includes the support device an image sensor for capturing images and video, the image sensor repositionably attachable to the support device. In at least one embodiment a method for viewing, capturing, and displaying documents and objects with an image sensor is disclosed.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus for generating image data corresponding to a document image, includes: an irradiating section for irradiating light rays to an image bearing surface of a document; a housing formed with a slit for restrictedly passing light rays reflected from the image bearing surface of the document; a photoelectric conversion element for converting an optical image made of the light rays having passed through the slit of the housing to an electric signal; and an optical system for guiding the light rays having passed through the slit of the housing to the photoelectric conversion element. The housing has a light restrictor at each of the both ends of the slit. The light restrictor projects toward the image bearing surface of the document to thereby keep light rays reflected from an area outside a reading area of the image bearing surface of the document from entering the slit.
Abstract:
The invention is related to an image reading apparatus which has a conveying unit which conveys an original (D), a first reading unit including a first reading section which reads one side of the original (D) conveyed by the conveying unit, a second reading unit (12) including a second reading section which reads the other side of the original conveyed by the conveying unit; and a moving mechanism (30) which displaces relative positions of the first reading unit and the second reading unit in an original conveyance direction by using driving force of a motor for driving the conveying unit.
Abstract:
An original transport and reading apparatus includes an original transport apparatus having a transport path, a first image reading unit that reads an image of an original facing the original transport apparatus, and a second image reading unit that is arranged inside the original transport apparatus and reads an image of the original. The second image reading unit includes a light source, a turning mirror, a lens, an image sensor, and a rotation support shaft, and is accommodated and held by a unit casing. The rotation support shaft performs support so as to allow rotation of the second image reading unit centered on a rotational fulcrum that is arranged along a reading light path for reading an image at a second reading position. Furthermore, a curved original guide having a guiding surface that is curved is arranged in a position corresponding to the light source.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus capable of controlling movement of a transparent member suitably depending on various situations by including a transparent member, a feeding unit that feeds an original document to the transparent member, a reading unit that reads an image of the document fed on the transparent member via the transparent member, a moving unit that reciprocates the transparent member in a prescribed direction, and a controller that moves the transparent member forward in one direction from a home position while one document passes through a reading position, and stops the transparent member and then moves the transparent member backward to the home position when an interruption event of reading the document occurs.
Abstract:
To set at least the main portion of a read original on an image reading apparatus while avoiding a discontinuous portion, the position of the discontinuous portion of photoelectric conversion element arrays is indicated, or an original holder to be used to set the original while avoiding the discontinuous portion is arranged.
Abstract:
A film conversion device that includes a body, a frame, a bottom brace and a bottom cover wherein the frame body is assembled to the upper portion of the bottom brace and then housed within the combination of the body and the bottom cover. A camera lens and image sensor is set above the frame and the combination of the camera lens and digital sensor is utilized to capture the images on the film and covert the images into digital data capable of being stored by a general purpose computing device or memory device. A display and memory may also be included to allow users to view, edit and capture images and to allow the film conversion device to operate on a stand-alone basis.
