Abstract: A powered tailgate opening system having object collision protection is disclosed for reducing the risk of collision with an object during opening of the tailgate. The opening system has an object distance sensor to sense a distance to an object during movement of the tailgate and an opening angle sensor for sensing an angle of opening of the tailgate. A memory stores limit distance values which vary according to different angles of opening of the tailgate and a controller controls a tailgate movement drive mechanism according to a determination of whether a sensed distance at a sensed angle of opening is less than the stored limit distance value for that sensed angle of opening.

Abstract: A detector testing system includes an environmental chamber configured to provide at least one selected environmental condition within the chamber. The environmental chamber includes an opening. A cover over the opening has at least one surface that is at least partially transparent to radiation that the detector is configured to receive. The cover is configured to maintain the at least one selected environmental condition within the environmental chamber. A detector support is configured to support a plurality of detectors exposed to the at least one selected environmental condition in a location within a space defined by the cover where the cover provides a detector field of view through the at least one surface. The detector field of view for each of the detectors has a horizontal range of at least 180°.

Abstract: A connector assembly includes a connector body, a corresponding mating connector body, and a connection position assurance (CPA) device. The female connector body defines an outwardly extending retaining ledge on the forward portion of the female connector body. The seal defines an inwardly extending retaining hook engaging the retaining ledge. A portion of the retaining hook is disposed intermediate the female connector body and the seal retainer.

Abstract: A system for generating a 3D reflective surface map includes a positioning system, one or more antennas co-located with the positioning system, and a processing system. The positioning system calculates a position estimate. The one or more antennas co-located with the positioning system are configured to receive at least one reflected global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signal associated with a respective GNSS satellite and wherein a pseudo-range to the GNSS satellite is determined based on the reflected GNSS signal. The processing system is configured to receive the position estimate and the pseudo-ranges calculated with respect to each reflected GNSS signal, wherein the processing system maps a reflective surface based on the calculated pseudo-range provided by the reflected GNSS signals, the position estimate, angle-of-arrival of each reflected GNSS signal, and known satellite location of each respective gnss satellite.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems for a road-perception system to estimate a belief and plausibility of lanes in a road model. The road-perception system models lanes of a road using basis bands to represent lane sections. The basis bands comprise points representing a polyline with a width at each point. The use of basis bands results in lower-computational requirements and a more stable road model than grid-based representations of a driving environment. The road-perception system also determines a belief mass associated with the lane sections. The road-perception system then computes, using the belief masses, a belief parameter and a plausibility parameter associated with proposed lanes of the road model. In this way, the described techniques and systems can provide an accurate and reliable road model and quantify uncertainty therein.
