    Abstract: Novel techniques are described for automated physical package delivery with end-to-end package security. For example, a sender can secure contents of a physical package using an electronic lock locked using a lock code. The lock code is encrypted by applying an encryption key to generate an encrypted lock code. The encryption key is generated in accordance with a decryption key associated with the recipient, such that application of the decryption key by the recipient to the encrypted lock code can generate an unlock code to unlock the electronic lock. An intermediary automated package delivery system can provide one or more end-to-end security features, including facilitating key exchange features between the sender and recipient, applying additional sensor tag features, and directing autonomous delivery features.

    Abstract: Systems and processes associated with an augmented film crew. For example, a computer-implemented method may include receiving, at a display of a user media device, an indication that a user of the user media device intends to generate a user video in an environment; receiving, at the display, an input indicating a user preference associated with the user video; generating, by the user media device, data associated with the environment using a sensor of the user media device; determining, by the user media device, a purpose for the user video using the user preference and the data associated with the environment, wherein the purpose is chosen from a predetermined set of purposes; detecting an additional media device that is located in the environment, wherein the additional media device is associated with the user or the user media device; determining pre-production assignments for the user video using the purpose and the additional media device, wherein the pre-production assignments indicate one or more characteristics of the scene for the user video in the environment; generating, using the user media device, a first video stream of the scene in the environment using the pre-production assignments; receiving, from the additional media device, a second video stream of the scene; and generating, by the user media device, the user video using the first video stream or the second video streams. The above steps may be implemented as instructions stored in a computer-readable medium, computer program product, or device such as a television receiver, or in other types of embodiments.

    Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards remotely generating encoding metadata at a remote content distributor for use by a local user computing device. The remote content distributor receives and encodes content. During or after the encoding process, the remote content distributor generates encoding metadata that indicates how the content was encoded by the remote content distributor. The remote content distributor provides the encoding metadata to the user computer device. The user computing device receives the content and the encoding metadata and encodes the content based on the encoding metadata. The user computing device can then provide the encoded content to another computing device for decoding and presentation to a user.

    Abstract: An Internet Layer end-to-end security connection (an Internet protocol (IP) encrypted tunnel) is established between a television receiving device and each player device on a home local area network (LAN) as part of the initial pairing process between each player device and the television receiving device. Traffic between the television receiving device and the player device is communicated via IP on the LAN, such that data between the two devices is securely encrypted at the Internet Layer, thus reducing potential security issues related to managing security and encryption at the application layer. This results in a secure virtual private network (VPN) between each player device and the television receiving device.

    Abstract: “Binge watching” of multiple episodes of a program is improved by the player device automatically skipping repeated portions of the program. Opening and closing credit scenes, for example, can be automatically skipped to thereby allow the viewer to progress through the entire season of programming at an even faster rate than was previously thought possible. Programming to be skipped may be identified by detecting audio or other digital fingerprints in the content itself, for example. Content to be skipped may be identified to the playback device according to presentation time stamp (PTS) or other time markers.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for notification forwarding may include forwarding all or selected notifications generated by one or more applications running on a wireless mobile device to a television receiving device that is connected to the television. This forwarding may occur over the short-range wireless network or on a home wireless local area network on which the television receiving device is also present. Wire terminals of the environmental sensor gateway may be connected with wires that are electrically connected with environmental sensors. Each operator-specific application may be mapped to a corresponding environmental sensor. Environmental sensor measurements may be received from the environmental sensors via the wire terminals. Based on a wire terminal through which an environmental sensor measurement is received, the environmental sensor measurement may be processed using an operator-specific application. The environmental sensor measurement may be processed using the operator-specific application.
