    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring a device-configured split data threshold for utilizing split data radio bearers (DRBs). A method that may be performed at a user equipment (UE) includes setting a device-configured split data threshold to a value that is less than or equal to a network-configured split data threshold value in response to the network-configured split data threshold value being greater than a first buffer threshold value associated with a data buffer of the UE, monitoring an amount of data in the data buffer, and triggering a first scheduling request (SR) associated with a first communication link and a second SR associated with a second communication link in response to the amount of data in the data buffer being greater than the device-configured split data threshold value.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may wake up from a sleep mode of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle based on receipt of uplink data. The UE may determine if an elapsed time between a prior receipt of one or more reference signals and an uplink transmission to the base station after waking up from the sleep mode is less than a threshold time value. If the elapsed time is less than the threshold time value, the UE may transmit an uplink transmission associated with the received uplink data prior to receiving one or more reference signals that may be used to update transmission parameters for uplink transmissions. If the elapsed time is at or above the threshold value, the UE may wait to receive the one or more reference signals and update the transmission parameters prior to the uplink transmission.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a modem of a user equipment (UE) and a data source, such as an application processor or a tethered client, may support for flow control enforcement per service flow. For example, the modem may transmit, to the application processor, a first flow control command for a first data traffic including non-prioritized data. The application processor, based on the first flow control command, may transmit, to the modem, the first data traffic including the non-prioritized data according to the first flow control command while also transmitting a second data traffic including prioritized data without flow control. The modem and the application processor may support such selective flow control enforcement based on a priority of a service flow based on maintaining multiple buffers at the modem or based on defining multiple thresholds of one buffer associated with triggering flow control.

A communication device, such as a user equipment may identify a size capability for a buffer associated with a protocol layer of the UE. The buffer may be a layer two buffer and the protocol layer may be a layer two protocol layer. The UE may transmit, to a base station serving the UE, an indication of the identified size capability for the buffer. In some cases, the UE may transmit the indication of the identified size capability in a UE capability report in radio resource control signaling. The UE may then communicate, with the base station 105, data that is scheduled based on the transmitted indication.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a technique executed by a user equipment (UE) for obtaining a burst of transmission control protocol (TCP) packets conveying packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) protocol data units (PDUs) by an application protocol TCP layer of a communication protocol stack of the UE. The UE may then determine a first number of a first plurality of acknowledge (ACK) tokens to transmit in a first transmission time interval (TTI) based on an amount of data used to ACK the burst of TCP packets. The UE may then transmit the first plurality of ACK tokens in the first TTI and a single ACK token in a second TTI subsequent to the first TTI.

A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may receive a first control message that indicates a set of scheduled uplink communications, where the set of scheduled uplink communications include a set of transmission opportunities for transmitting one or more uplink messages. The UE may calculate a first duration between an availability of uplink data at the UE and a transmission opportunity of the set of transmission opportunities for transmitting the uplink data. The UE may then transmit a scheduling request for the uplink data based on the first duration being greater than a second duration, the second duration being either a duration between sending the scheduling request and receiving an uplink grant, or a latency threshold duration.
