    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide beam determination in beamformed wireless communications. A base station may transmit multiple repetitions of control information for a subsequent scheduled transmission. A user equipment (UE) may receive one of the multiple repetitions, determine the control information, and adjust beamforming parameters for the scheduled transmission. The UE may have a scheduling threshold that corresponds to a time needed for the UE to adjust beamforming parameters for the scheduled transmission, and the UE may identify the beamforming parameters for the scheduled transmission from any one of the multiple repetitions of control information, which may be transmitted using different downlink transmission beams, before or after the scheduling threshold, or combinations thereof.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit to a base station an indication of a UE capability associated with a beam change at the UE. The UE may receive, from the base station during a scheduling slot, a control signal including a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) and a grant for a transport block over a first slot aggregation including a set of slots. In some cases, each slot of the first slot aggregation is offset from the scheduling slot according to a scheduling constraint based on the indicated UE capability. The UE may transmit or receive the transport block over the first slot aggregation using a UE beam based on the TCI.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a list of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state patterns where each entry in the list may correspond to a different TCI state pattern. The base station may transmit an indication of a selected entry from the TCI state pattern list and transmit a grant to the UE indicating that resources have been allocated in for transmitting a transport block (TB). The UE may receive the grant and attempt to receive the TB in accordance with the indicated TCI state pattern. The UE may generate multi-bit feedback to indicate whether the UE was able to successfully decode the TB and transmit the feedback to the base station. The base station may use the multi-bit feedback for determining whether to select a different TCI state pattern.

    Abstract: Wireless devices may employ techniques for indicating alternative modulation coding schemes (MCSs) (e.g., MCS values or MCS indices not associated with a default list or default MCS table). That is, communications (e.g., such as physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmissions carrying downlink control information (DCI), physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmissions carrying uplink grants, etc.) may include information (e.g., in MCS fields and reserved fields) that indicate alternative MCSs for subsequent communications. For example, random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI) scrambled DCI, random access response (RAR) messages, etc., may indicate an alternative MCS for subsequent messages in a random access procedure (e.g., for a RAR, an RRC connection request, etc.). The alternative MCS may be conveyed by indicating information such as MCS scaling factors, alternative MCS table IDs, MCS indices associated with the alternative MCS table, or some combination thereof.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication of a plurality of candidate beams on which the base station is able to simultaneously transmit communications to the UE, and determine a first beam and a second beam from among the plurality of candidate beams, based at least in part on one or more measurements of the plurality of candidate beams. The UE may transmit an indication of the first beam and the second beam to the base station, and receive communications simultaneously on the first beam and the second beam.     Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for beamforming in wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to beamforming configurations for multicast communications. A transmitting device may transmit multicast data to multiple receiving devices, concurrently, via a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). The PDSCH may be preceded by a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The PDCCH may provide scheduling information for the PDSCH, including a multicast beam associated with the PDSCH and a timing offset or delay between the PDCCH and the PDSCH. A receiving device may determine that the PDSCH contains multicast data based on an indication in the PDCCH. To receive the PDSCH, each receiving device may tune its antennas in a direction of the scheduled multicast beam or a default beam based on the delay between the PDCCH and the PDSCH.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which spatial relations for one or more uplink reference signal transmissions, such as sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions, may be configured and a particular spatial relation indicated in a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE). A base station may configure a pool of available spatial relations for use in SRS transmissions, and the MAC-CE may indicate which spatial relation of the set of available spatial relations is to be used. In other cases, the MAC-CE may provide all of the spatial relation information for an associated SRS transmission. The UE, responsive to receiving the MAC-CE, may transmit a SRS to the base station using the indicated spatial relation.
