Abstract: Systems and methods for recommending a data rate on an uplink or downlink communication channel between the network node and a wireless device in a wireless communications system are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a method performed by a wireless device for recommending a data rate on an uplink or downlink communication channel between the wireless device and a network node in a wireless communications system comprises determining to request that the network node recommend a data rate on the uplink or downlink communication channel for the wireless device. Further, the method includes generating a first information element that indicates the request. Also, the first information element is sent via a protocol layer on the uplink communication channel.

Abstract: A method and apparatus according to the present invention addresses and/or prevents lost protocol synchronization in HARQ systems caused by ACK/NACK errors. One embodiment detects lost synchronization errors for NDI-based retransmission protocols and restores synchronization by sending an explicit RESET message. In response to the RESET message, the transmitter aborts the transmission of a current PDU and transmits a new PDU and corresponding NDI. Another embodiment prevents protocol synchronization errors by sending scheduling grants on a packet by packet basis. The receiver sends a subsequent explicit scheduling grant to the transmitter based on an error evaluation of a received PDU. The transmitter will not send the next PDU unless it receives the subsequent explicit scheduling grant.

Abstract: A terminal includes a receiver, which, in operation, receives time unit information related to an amount of an uplink time resource per a time unit, and receives a number of repetitions over a plurality of the time units, wherein the time unit includes a downlink time resource for a downlink signal and the uplink time resource for a response signal. The amount of the uplink time resource is expressed as a fixed number of consecutive symbols that remains the same number over the plurality of the time units over which the response signal is repeatedly transmitted. The terminal includes a transmitter, which, in operation, repeatedly transmits the response signal over the plurality of the time units.

Abstract: An example method includes receiving, by a first application executing on a primary device and from a second application executing on the primary device, an indication of data to be transferred, wherein the primary device and the vehicle head unit are communicatively coupled via a wireless network connection operating in accordance with a wireless networking protocol; determining, by the first application and based on the indication of the data, an amount of data to be transferred; determining, by the first application, whether the amount of data satisfies a maximum packet size for the wireless networking protocol; responsive to determining that the amount of data does not satisfy the maximum packet size: segmenting the data into a plurality of packets, wherein each packet from the plurality of packets includes an amount of data that satisfies the maximum packet size; and sending the plurality of packets using the wireless network connection.

Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enhance the functionality of computer networking devices through an accelerated packet header analysis algorithm that enables support for variable length headers and vectorized packet header operations. This is accomplished through pre-parsing of the network packet to determine the presence and position of various packet headers (e.g., ethernet, IPv4). The disclosed system can be subsequently configured with a header selector defining a set of target packet headers and target fields within the packet headers. The disclosed system can then utilize the header offsets derived from parsing the packet to process the header selector. By utilizing vectorized operations to calculate field offsets and extract values encoded by the network packet, the disclosed system can match header fields across multiple packet headers. In contrast, many existing solutions are limited to matching a single packet header at a time.

Abstract: A method and apparatus includes receiving at a sink node a path signal frame and a modified set of idle character 64B/66B blocks. The path signal frame includes encoded client data signal 64B/66B blocks, path overhead 64B/66B data blocks and a control 64B/66B block. The link bit rate is measured. The number of idle character 64B/66B blocks is determined. The data blocks of the CBR client signal are extracted from the encoded client data signal 64B/66B blocks and the CBR client signal is regenerated from the extracted data blocks. A bit rate of the CBR client signal is determined using the measured link bit rate and the number of idle character 64B/66B blocks. The rate of a CBR signal clock is adjusted for transmitting the CBR client signal at the determined bit rate.

Abstract: A method is provided to implement a fragmentation mechanism for a session between a 5G-RG and access gateway function (AGF) communicating over point to point protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) that encapsulates control messages, where the 5G-RG or the AGF is a sender of a message. The method includes receiving the message to be sent that does not fit within a maximum transmission unit for the session, generating a first fragment of the message and a second fragment of the message, and sending the first fragment of the message and the second fragment of the message to a receiver, the second fragment including metadata with a length, and cyclic redundancy check.
