    Abstract: In one embodiment, a touch input device capable of detecting a pressure of a touch on a touch surface is disclosed. The touch input device includes a substrate and a display module. A reference potential layer is disposed within the display module. The touch input device further comprises an electrode which is disposed at a position where a distance between the electrode and the reference potential layer changes according to the touch on the touch surface. The distance changes according to a magnitude of the pressure of the touch. Further, an electric signal depending on the distance is outputted from the electrode.

    Abstract: A touch input device may be provided that includes a display module; a substrate which is disposed under the display module; a pressure sensor which is disposed between the display module and the substrate; and a pressure sensing circuit which outputs a predetermined voltage. The touch input device detects the pressure magnitude on the basis of the voltage output from the pressure sensing circuit. The pressure sensing circuit includes a pressure sensing node NA; a switch serially connected between a power voltage VDDA and the pressure sensing node; a current source serially connected between the pressure sensing node and the ground; and an output node No. The current source is turned on during a first time period t1 every cycle. The switch is turned on every cycle during a third time period t3 separated from the first time period t1 by a predetermined time period.

    Abstract: A touch input device capable of detecting a touch pressure is provided that includes: a display module having a pressure electrode which is formed on a back side of the display panel and is for detecting the pressure; and a reference potential layer which is formed separately from the pressure electrode. The touch input device detects the touch pressure on the basis of a capacitance change amount according to a change of a distance between the pressure electrode and the reference potential layer. As a result of this, the touch input device becomes thinner, has a reduced manufacturing cost thereof, and detects a touch position and touch pressure without deteriorating the visibility and optical transmittance of the display module.

    Abstract: A control method of a touch input device capable of sensing a pressure of a touch may be provided.     Abstract: A touch input device detecting a touch position and a touch pressure includes a display module having a first layer made of glass or plastic and a second layer disposed under the first layer and made of glass or plastic; touch electrodes formed within the display module for detecting the touch position and the touch pressure; and a reference electrode disposed apart from the touch electrode. The touch position is detected by a sensing signal received from the touch electrode. An electrical signal changed by a capacitance between the touch electrode and the reference electrode is detected from the touch electrode. The capacitance is changed by change of a distance between the touch electrode and the reference electrode. The distance between the touch electrode and the reference electrode is changed by the bending of the display module. The touch pressure is detected based on the capacitance.
