Abstract: In one embodiment, a touch input device capable of detecting a pressure of a touch on a touch surface is disclosed. The touch input device includes a substrate and a display module. A reference potential layer is disposed within the display module. The touch input device further comprises an electrode which is disposed at a position where a distance between the electrode and the reference potential layer changes according to the touch on the touch surface. The distance changes according to a magnitude of the pressure of the touch. Further, an electric signal depending on the distance is outputted from the electrode.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the invention can be a touch input device capable of unlocking a passcode accordance with a touch pressure. The device can include a touch screen which displays a passcode input window; a controller which generates a first control signal as to whether or not a touch on the passcode input window matches a predetermined passcode; and a memory which stores the predetermined passcode. The passcode input window can include a plurality of nodes which are disposed in different positions. The number of touched nodes among the plurality of nodes, the order of the touched nodes among the plurality of nodes, and a pressure level of the touch on each of the touched nodes among the plurality of nodes can be set as the predetermined passcode. Further, the pressure level of the touch can be classified into at least two levels.

Abstract: A touch input device capable of detecting a touch pressure is provided that includes: a display module having a pressure electrode which is formed on a back side of the display panel and is for detecting the pressure; and a reference potential layer which is formed separately from the pressure electrode. The touch input device detects the touch pressure on the basis of a capacitance change amount according to a change of a distance between the pressure electrode and the reference potential layer. As a result of this, the touch input device becomes thinner, has a reduced manufacturing cost thereof, and detects a touch position and touch pressure without deteriorating the visibility and optical transmittance of the display module.

Abstract: A touch input device detecting a touch position and a touch pressure includes a display module having a first layer made of glass or plastic and a second layer disposed under the first layer and made of glass or plastic; touch electrodes formed within the display module for detecting the touch position and the touch pressure; and a reference electrode disposed apart from the touch electrode. The touch position is detected by a sensing signal received from the touch electrode. Abstract: A touch pressure sensitivity correction method may be provided that includes: defining a plurality of reference points on a touch sensor panel; generating a reference data for a capacitance change amount sensed by applying the same pressure to the plurality of reference points; generating an interpolated data corresponding to a capacitance change amount for a random point present between the plurality of reference points; calculating, on the basis of the reference data and interpolated data, with respect to the reference points and the random point respectively, a correction factor for correcting a sensitivity of a touch input device to a target value; and correcting uniformly for the touch pressure sensitivity of the touch input device by applying the calculated correction factor to each corresponding point.
