Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for Uplink operation in LTE unlicensed spectrum (LTE-U). A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive licensed assisted access (LAA) configuration information, e.g., for a first cell from a second cell. The first cell may be associated with operation in an unlicensed band, and the second cell may be associated with operation in a licensed band. The WTRU may determine whether a first subframe is a sounding reference signal (SRS) subframe for the first cell. If the first subframe is an SRS subframe for the first cell, the WTRU may determine SRS resources for the first subframe and determine whether the WTRU is triggered to transmit an SRS transmission in the first subframe. If it is determined the WTRU is triggered to transmit the SRS transmission in the first subframe, the WTRU may transmit the SRS transmission on the SRS resources for the first subframe.

Abstract: ePDCCH may be provided. For example, a WTRU may receive a configuration for monitoring an ePDCCH resource. Based on the configuration, the WTRU may be configured to monitor and may monitor the ePDCCH resource on a particular subframe. Additionally, a WTRU may derive an aggregation level for a subframe associated with an aggregation level number NAL. The WTRU may transmit or monitor an ePDCCH using the aggregation level associated with the NAL for the subframe. A WTRU may also receive a reference signal. The WTRU may then determine the type of reference signal received. The WTRU may perform a demodulation of the PDSCH or ePDCCH using a demodulation timing based on the determined type. The ePDCCH or PDSCH may also be monitored or received by identifying a demodulation reference timing implicitly based on a location of one or more ePDCCH resources where the WTRU may receive DCI.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may monitor a common physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) search space for a downlink control information (DCI) signal and a first radio network terminal identifier (RNTI). In an example, the DCI signal may include an uplink (UL)/downlink (DL) configuration indication. In a further example, the first RNTI may be associated with UL/DL configuration information. The WTRU may transmit UL data or receive DL data based on the received UL/DL configuration indication. In another example, the DCI may include a plurality of UL/DL configuration indications. In an additional example, a plurality of WTRUs may monitor the common PDCCH search space for the first RNTI. Also, the UL/DL configuration indication may indicate UL/DL configuration information on a symbol basis. Further, the WTRU may receive a second RNTI which is associated with the UL/DL configuration indication.

Abstract: Systems and method are specified to improve the reception of UL transmission, for example in power or coverage limited situations. A WTRU may modify procedures to increase the available signal energy for reception at an eNB and/or to make more efficient use of the available signal energy at the receiver for processing UL transmissions. Example methods for increasing UL link coverage may include modifying HARQ timing (e.g., shorter HARQ), using longer TTIs, use of dedicated PUSCH allocations, use of new PUSCH modulations, enhanced reference signal design, UL macro diversity reception for PUSCH, utilizing protocol reduction techniques, ensuring in-order packet delivery, and/or utilizing a configuration for coverage limited/power limited modes of operation. The proposed methods may be applied individually or in any combination.

Each time pattern indicates transmission times for the WTRU. The receiver and the processor are configured to receive an indication in a scheduling assignment. The indication in the scheduling assignment indicates at least one of the set of time patterns to use. The processor and the transmitter are configured to transmit based on the received indication.

The WTRU may select one or more available SA resources used for priority based D2D data signals. The WTRU may transmit the D2D data, wherein the D2D data may be transmitted on the selected SA resources.

Abstract: A wireless network may implement a reduced bandwidth for control information transmitted and/or received on the wireless network. The reduced bandwidth may be used to avoid interference that may be detected from an in-band or adjacent channel. The reduced bandwidth may be used for transmission and/or reception of control information on a cellular or Wi-Fi channel. An eNB or an access point (AP) may signal to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) information associated with the reduced control channel, such as the power and/or the location of the channel in a frequency band. The control channel may be shifted to avoid a change in interference.

Abstract: Coverage enhancement of channels in a wireless communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE) and LTE-Advanced (LTE-A). One example method performed at a wireless transmit and receive unit (WTRU) includes determining a repetition number for an uplink signal and deriving an uplink transmission power for the uplink signal, where the uplink transmission power is based on the repetition number. The method further includes transmitting the uplink signal with repetitions, using the determined repetition number and the derived uplink transmission power.
