    Abstract: An example device for coding (encoding or decoding) video data includes a memory configured to store video data; and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and configured to: code data representing a location of a virtual boundary defining a clean side of a picture of video data and a dirty side of the picture; disable use of blocks on the dirty side for intra-prediction reference of blocks on the clean side; and code the picture without using the blocks on the dirty side for intra-prediction reference of the blocks on the clean side.

    Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for signaling 360-degree video information in syntax structures. As one example, this disclosure describes examples for signaling projection types and related information for 360-degree video in syntax structures that include one or more syntax elements. In some examples, the same syntax structures may include non-360-degree video information as well. Accordingly, the syntax structure may be used for encoding and decoding a bitstream carrying only non-360-degree video data, only 360-degree video data, or both non-360-degree video data and 360-degree video data.

    Abstract: As part of bypass decoding syntax elements for a set of coefficients in response to reaching a maximum number of regular coded bins, a video decoder is configured to receive a prefix value for a transform coefficient; decode the prefix value using Golomb-Rice coding; in response to a length of the prefix value being equal to a threshold value, receive a suffix value for the transform coefficient; decode the suffix value using exponential Golomb coding; and determine a level value for the transform coefficient based on the decoded prefix value and the decoded suffix value.

    Abstract: An example device includes processing circuitry configured to determine a first state of a data structure, the first state representing a first quantizer applied to a previously quantized or inverse quantized value of a previous transform coefficient of residual data for a block of the video data and update the data structure to a second state according to the first state and a parity of a partial set of syntax elements representing a partial set of a plurality of coefficient levels for the previous transform coefficient. The processing circuitry is further configured to determine a second quantizer to be used to quantize or inverse quantize a current value of a current transform coefficient according to the second state of the data structure and quantize or inverse quantize the current value of the current transform coefficient using the second quantizer.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a system and methods for encoding video data. The method can include storing a data structure in a memory, the data structure having a first plurality of data elements arranged corresponding to a second plurality of data elements of a first video data block, and defining a periphery, the data structure further including data related to all of a smallest prediction unit (PU) for the first video data block. The method can also include increasing a size of the data structure in the memory by adding a plurality of extended units along the periphery of the first plurality of data elements, each extended unit having data related to a smallest data element of the first video data block, the extended units being set to default values.     Abstract: A video coder can determine a first most probable intra prediction mode and a second most probable intra prediction mode for a current video block, and based on the first and second most probable intra prediction modes, determine an estimate of an actual intra prediction mode used to code the current video block. The estimate of the actual intra prediction mode can be determined by selecting one of the first most probable mode and the second most probable mode as the estimate of the actual intra prediction in response to both the first most probable mode and the second most probable mode being different angular prediction modes. The estimate of the actual intra prediction mode plus difference information can be used to identify the actual intra prediction mode used to code the current video block.
