Abstract:
A method and apparatus for making an anastomosis between a tubular duct and a vessel has an annulus having a longitudinal axis, a first set of fingers and a second set of fingers. The first set of fingers extend axially from the annulus in one direction and the second set of fingers extending axially from the annulus in another direction generally opposite the direction of the first set of fingers. The first and second sets of fingers are movable to penetrate the tubular duct and the vessel, respectively, as they move from a biased configuration to an unbiased configuration.
Abstract:
A sclerosing foam comprising a physiologically acceptable gas that is readily dispersible in blood together with an aqueous sclerosant liquid is a microfoam further including one or more detectable gases selected from helium, neon, xenon, argon, sulfur hexafluoride and nitrous oxide, where the total volume of detectable gases comprises from 0.01% to 40% of the total volume of gas.
Abstract:
Soap dispensing shower head and brush head with a flexible hose and attachment to fasten to a standard water supply and shower spigot. An enclosed chamber contains a water driven paddle wheel. The paddle wheel drives a first set of gears that cause a scrub brush to rotate. A second set of gears powered by the paddle wheel that cause a cam to rotate. The cam pushes against a soap delivery pump head causing the soap to be pushed through an aperture that runs through the center of the shower head assembly. A selector valve allows the user to choose between the shower function and the rotating brush, soap delivery function, an additional mechanical selector switch that allows the user to turn the soap delivery function on or off. A soap containing reservoir is connected to the enclosure and also acts as a handle portion.
Abstract:
A stackable network unit comprises a ‘down’ port and an ‘up’ port, an arbitration path for data packets from the down port to the up port, a repeat path for data packets from the up port to the down port, a link detector for detecting tile absence of another operative unit connected to the down port to cause data packets on the return pat to bypass the down port and proceed on the arbitration path and for detecting the absence of another operative unit connected to the up port to cause data packets on the arbitration path to bypass the up port and proceed on the repeat path.
Abstract:
A system and method causes a computer to detect and perform actions on structures identified in computer data. The system provides an analyzer server, an application program interface, a user interface and an action processor. The analyzer server receives from an application running concurrently data having recognizable structures, uses a pattern analysis unit, such as a parser or fast string search function, to detect structures in the data, and links relevant actions to the detected structures. The application program interface communicates with the application running concurrently, and transmits relevant information to the user interface. Thus, the user interface can present and enable selection of the detected structures, and upon selection of a detected structure, present the linked candidate actions. Upon selection of an action, the action processor performs the action on the detected structure.
Abstract:
A cabinet is provided which comprises a pull-out shelf, means for supporting books on the shelf so that they can be opened and read without removing them from the shelf, and means for automatically closing the books at the ends of the shelf when the shelf is pushed back into the cabinet.
