    Abstract: Techniques for a hub node, provisioned in a site of a hub and spoke overlay network, to receive, store, and/or forward network routing information associated with a spoke, and send packets directly to spoke(s) that are remote from the hub node. A first hub node may receive a network advertisement including a border gateway protocol (BGP) large community string from a first spoke local to the first hub node. The first hub node may send the BGP large community string to a second hub node remote from the first hub node. The second hub node may decode network routing information from the BGP large community string and store the network routing information locally. The second hub node may send a packet from a second spoke local to the second hub node directly to the first spoke without the data packet being routed via the first hub node.

    Abstract: A battery management system (BMS) is presented herein. The BMS has a master node. The master node includes a master transceiver and a controller communicably coupled to the master transceiver. The BMS has a plurality (n) of slave nodes. Each slave node of the n slave nodes includes a slave transceiver for communicably coupling to at least one battery monitor. The controller of the BMS is configured to direct the master transceiver to establish a communications network with the n slave nodes. To establish the communications network, the controller is also configured to respectively assign each of the n slave nodes to non-overlapping time slots of a superframe. The controller is further configured to direct the master transceiver to consecutively receive uplink (UL) transmissions from the n slave nodes in the non-overlapping time slots of the superframe.

    Abstract: One aspect of the present invention is a communication device including: a first control unit that converts, when data including partial data obtained by fragmenting a user frame and a user frame is received via a passive optical network, the partial data into data that is not discarded in a transmission line through which the user frame is transmitted, and transmits the data through the transmission line through which the user frame is transmitted; and a second control unit that receives the data via the transmission line through which the user frame is transmitted from the first control unit, converts the received data into a user frame that is transmittable through the passive optical network, and transmits the user frame via the passive optical network.

    Abstract: An aggregated communication network includes one or more communication networks and a plurality of network nodes arranged in a plurality of hierarchical layers, the network nodes including a central node at a highest layer and a remaining network nodes being arranged, as part of the one or more communication networks, in layers below the highest layer, with one or more spatially distributed network nodes at each layer below the highest layer. The network nodes in each communication network are interconnected in a tree-like structure via communication links, with respective sub-branches extending from the network nodes via network nodes in lower layers. The one or more communication networks are connected to the central node in a star-like structure via respective communication links between the central node and respective network nodes in a next-to-highest layer.
