Abstract: Techniques for combining the functionality of fabric interconnects and switches (e.g., Top-of-Rack (ToR) switches) into one network entity, thereby reducing the number of devices in a fabric and complexity of communications in the fabric. By collapsing FI and ToR switch functionality into one network entity, server traffic may be directly forwarded by the ToR switch and an entire tier is now eliminated from the topology hierarchy which may improve the control, data, and management plane. Further, this disclosure describes techniques for dynamically managing the number of gateway proxies running on one or more computer clusters based on a number of managed switch domains.

Abstract: Embodiments include apparatuses, methods, and systems of routing network containing a set of sources, a primary destination, a set of secondary destinations, and one or more routing elements. A routing element includes an input port, a set of output ports including a primary output port and a set of secondary output ports, and a control unit. The control unit is arranged to select a secondary output port to deliver a received message when the intended destination of the message is a secondary destination and the secondary output port is in a functional state. Otherwise, the control unit is arranged to select the primary output port to deliver the received message to the primary destination when the intended destination is the secondary destination and the secondary output port that reaches the secondary destination is in a nonfunctional state. Abstract: Techniques for a hub node, provisioned in a site of a hub and spoke overlay network, to receive, store, and/or forward network routing information associated with a spoke, and send packets directly to spoke(s) that are remote from the hub node. A first hub node may receive a network advertisement including a border gateway protocol (BGP) large community string from a first spoke local to the first hub node. The first hub node may send the BGP large community string to a second hub node remote from the first hub node. The second hub node may decode network routing information from the BGP large community string and store the network routing information locally. The second hub node may send a packet from a second spoke local to the second hub node directly to the first spoke without the data packet being routed via the first hub node.

Abstract: A battery management system (BMS) is presented herein. The BMS has a master node. The master node includes a master transceiver and a controller communicably coupled to the master transceiver. The BMS has a plurality (n) of slave nodes. Each slave node of the n slave nodes includes a slave transceiver for communicably coupling to at least one battery monitor. The controller of the BMS is configured to direct the master transceiver to establish a communications network with the n slave nodes. To establish the communications network, the controller is also configured to respectively assign each of the n slave nodes to non-overlapping time slots of a superframe. The controller is further configured to direct the master transceiver to consecutively receive uplink (UL) transmissions from the n slave nodes in the non-overlapping time slots of the superframe.

Abstract: When an event occurs in the network that affects an information handling system in the network, a topology change notice (TCN) may be propagated so that the network topology can be regenerated. However, currently, there is no mechanism to readily identify the source information handling system of the TCN. To address issues, in one or more embodiments, when an information handling system (such as a network switch) initiates a TCN, it sends a specialized message to keep track of the source of the TCN. In one or more embodiments, information handling systems that receive the specialized message may record information about the source and forward it to other information handling system in the network.

Abstract: An aggregated communication network includes one or more communication networks and a plurality of network nodes arranged in a plurality of hierarchical layers, the network nodes including a central node at a highest layer and a remaining network nodes being arranged, as part of the one or more communication networks, in layers below the highest layer, with one or more spatially distributed network nodes at each layer below the highest layer. The network nodes in each communication network are interconnected in a tree-like structure via communication links, with respective sub-branches extending from the network nodes via network nodes in lower layers. The one or more communication networks are connected to the central node in a star-like structure via respective communication links between the central node and respective network nodes in a next-to-highest layer. The communication links between network nodes in a lowest layer.
