Abstract:
A system and method are presented for discovering mobile collaborators on a peer-to-peer (P2P) network. Each collaborator is identified on the P2P network by a unique ID. Each collaborator may also be identified by an identity file posted on the P2P network. Collaboration applications may include any of a variety of applications involving the exchange of information between 2 or more collaborators, such as voice over IP (VoIP). Dynamic file querying can be performed to filter the identity files most relevant to a particular peer partner. Web services are used end-to-end between P2P mobile devices and also between devices and third party service providers. Search engines use self-provisioning concepts for searches and WEB services querying. End-user devices register their personal information on P2P networks using identity self-provisioning and WEB services templates for a variety of uses, such as personal, gaming or business.
Abstract:
A face recognition method and apparatus using extended Gabor wavelet features are provided. In the face recognition method, extended Gabor wavelet features are extracted from a face image by applying an extended Gabor wavelet filter, a Gabor wavelet feature set is selected by performing a supervised learning process on the extended Gabor wavelet features, and the selected Gabor wavelet feature set is used for face recognition. Accordingly, it is possible to solve problems of a high error rate of face recognition and low face recognition efficiency caused from a limitation of parameters of the Gabor wavelet filter. In addition, it is possible to solve the problem of increased calculation complexity caused from using an extended Gabor wavelet filter and to implement robust face recognition which is excellent in dealing with a change in expression and illumination.

Provided are an apparatus and method for managing resources in a multiscreen environment. The apparatus includes a digital signal processing module which receives at least one of video information, audio information, and data information and restores a plurality of services based on the at least one of the video information, the audio information and the data information; a service processing module which reserves resources for a screen object, which is to display the restored services, and generates a display screen and a plurality of logical screens based on the reserved resources; and an output module which maps the plurality of logical screens generated by the service processing module to different locations on the display screen.

An apparatus for providing multiple screens and a method of dynamically configuring multiple screens is provided. The apparatus for providing multiple screens is capable of connecting a plurality of screens to a plurality of output ports so as to dynamically configure the plurality of screens which provide multiple contents on a single physical display device. The apparatus for providing multiple screens includes a service processing module which generates an output screen and a plurality of logical screens for displaying a plurality of services, and an output module which searches the plurality of logical screens for a logical screen combination that can be connected to an output port and that is mapped to the output screen, and maps the output screen to the output port.
