Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method can include: (i) monitoring for a buddy relevant event; (ii) deriving a buddy list portion from the buddy relevant event; (iii) determining presence information for each member in the buddy list portion; and (iv) updating an adaptive buddy list using the buddy list portion and the presence information.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method can include: (i) connecting to a conference server via a network; (ii) viewing a list of available past meetings and associated forms of access; (iii) selecting a meeting and form of access from the list; and (iv) re-creating the meeting in a context using the form of access. Example forms of access can include a dialing of all meeting participants, re-creating a previous meeting context, summarizing a meeting, displaying action items, and replaying or viewing a portion of a meeting.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus and a medium encoded with instructions for providing layout selection, participant selection, and/or participant-to-participant far end camera control of the selected participant for use in a continuous presence multipoint videoconference. The method includes receiving one or more far end camera control messages over a packet network from a first participant of a multipoint videoconference; maintaining an indication of a far end camera control mode for the first participant, the mode being one of a set of modes; and depending on the far end camera control mode and on controls possible, carrying out a control according to one ore more the camera control messages.
Abstract:
Marking a keyframe of a media stream in a communication system involves one or more entry media switches in communication with one or more endpoints. An entry media switch receives a media stream from an endpoint, where the media stream comprises a sequence of packets with a keyframe. The keyframe is detected and marked with a keyframe indicator. The keyframe indicator is operable to notify a downstream device of the keyframe. An output media stream is outputted.
Abstract:
Disclosed are conferencing systems, devices, architectures, and methods for managing a conference spanning system to facilitate participation in a plurality of conferences at the same time. An exemplary system having devices and/or structures in accordance with embodiments can include: (i) a plurality of conferences, each conference being configured to support a plurality of media modes; (ii) a presentation mechanism configured to support the plurality of media modes from the plurality of conferences; and (iii) a selector for selecting a conference from the plurality of conferences and designating the selected conference as an active conference and designating non-selected conferences as background conferences, wherein the active conference is assigned at least one enhanced media mode in the presentation mechanism.
Abstract:
A system and method for reserving conference resources for a multipoint conference includes receiving a request for a multipoint conference reservation and a list of participants. Communication paths for a plurality of the participants may be predicted. A multipoint control unit resource requirement may be estimated. A first multipoint control unit may be selected to host the multipoint conference. The availability of the multipoint control unit resource requirement at approximately a scheduled start time of the multipoint conference may be determined. A second multipoint control unit may be selected to host the multipoint conference, if the first multipoint control unit does not have the multipoint control unit resource requirement available at the scheduled start time and for the duration of the conference.
Abstract:
This method for music-on-hold in a voiceover Internet Protocol (VoIP) environment includes determining a quality value for each of a plurality of audio streams communicated in the VoIP format. One of the audio streams may be selected for playing to a call on hold based on the quality values for the audio streams. In that particular embodiment, the quality values may be determined at and/or near the endpoint handling that call on hold.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for discriminating high rate polymorphic QRS complexes from high rate monomorphic QRS complexes to increase the specificity of detection of polymorphic VT and VF employing wavelet transform signal processing of the QRS complexes are disclosed. Wavelet transforms are applied to the sampled amplitude values of a sequence of QRS complexes to develop wavelet transform coefficient (WTC) data sets. At least selected ones of the WTC data sets are processed and comparisons are made to determine a wavelet match score. A determination is made as a function of the wavelet match scores of the series of successive QRS complexes that characterizes the most recent QRS complex as more or less likely to signify polymorphic VT or VF.
Abstract:
A multi-layer method for detecting atrial arrhythmias using ventricular cycle length information that includes performing a base layer algorithm for detecting the onset and offset of an atrial tachyarrhythmia. The multi-layer method further includes one or more higher layer algorithms executed in response to a base layer detection to confirm or reject the base layer detection. The base layer is designed to operate with high sensitivity to atrial fibrillation and/or organized atrial tachycardia and the higher layer is designed to operate with high sensitivity and high specificity to atrial fibrillation and/or organized atrial tachycardia.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and apparatus for methods and apparatus for automatically contacting a service center for one or more particular products, as well as contacting other types of entities with respect to any type of item. In a first embodiment, each item includes a radio frequency identification (RFID) of the particular products that is used to automatically contact a service center or the like. In a second embodiment, the RFID of the particular product is automatically sent to the service center or the like. In the first embodiment, the RFID of each product contains contact information, such as a 1-800 telephone number, a URL address, or email address, for a particular service center or the like. In one implementation, an RFID reader is coupled with a communication device, such as a telephone or computer device, and the user uses the RFID reader to scan an RFID of a particular item (e.g., a malfunctioning product). The relevant service center or the like is then contacted based on the RFID scan. For example, the user is connected to an agent at the relevant service center via a telephone or computer network. In the second embodiment, when a service center (or the like) needs RFID tag data for a particular item, a user may select a “send” option (e.g., on the communication device or reader) to have such RFID tag data automatically transmitted to the service center or the like.
