A plurality of workpiece supports are coupled to the conveyor member for movement with and relative to the latter.     Abstract: A device for actuating the unloading mat in switching machines of a type comprising elements capable of engaging a supporting roller for the mat, so as to control its rotation and effect the unloading of the transported object during the forward motion of the trolley holding the mat. The elements include a rack capable of engaging a sprocket solidly affixed to the shaft of one of the mat rollers, and the rack is mounted on a support subjected to the action of eccentric devices designed to govern the shifts from a position of rest to one of engaging with the sprocket. The rack is mounted on the support with the capability of performing small shifts against elastic devices, along a direction parallel to the direction of the trolley's forward motion.

    Abstract: A wire belt having increased belt strength includes a plurality of wire links having alternating wide linking portions and narrow linking portions interlocked with respective linking portions of an adjacent wire link. The assembly of the wire belt includes interlocking the wire links, for example, by placing the wide linking portions into an engagement with wide linking portions of an adjacent wire link. The width of the wide linking portions is about equal to the minimum width that will allow the wire link to be interlocked with an adjacent wire link without bending the wire link in excess of the yield strength of the wire link.     Abstract: An elastic web belting is formed into a continuous loop for insertion on a conveyor frame which is formed with a cantilevered construction so the preformed complete loops can be installed on the frame without welding or cutting. The composite belt has an inner belt which is connected to an outer L-shaped belt by an array of angled spoke belts. The L-shaped outer belt engages with two outer pulleys such that the spokes extend over the tops of the pulleys. As the composite belt makes the turn in the conveyor, the spoke belts are elastically stretched, thereby conveying the carried product through the corner.
