Abstract: A door closing arrangement includes a first door closer for closing a first door leaf, the first door closer being positioned on the opposite side of the first door leaf from the its hinge, and a second door closer for closing a second door leaf. The distal end of the pull arm of the first door closer moves along a guide member in a direction towards the second edge of the door frame during movement of the first door leaf from a fully open position to a partially closed position and moves along the guide member in a direction towards the first edge of the door frame during movement of the first door leaf from the partially closed position to a fully closed position. The distal end of the second pull arm move along the guide member during closing of the second door leaf at least initially in a direction towards the first edge of the door frame. A closure sequence control mechanism has a blocking condition in which it prevents movement of the distal end of the second pull arm towards the first edge of the door frame and thereby prevents closing of the second door leaf and has a releasing condition in which it permits movement of the distal end of the second pull arm towards the first edge of the door frame and thereby permits closing of the second door leaf. The closure sequence control mechanism changes from its blocking condition to its releasing position by application of a force directed from the first edge of the door frame towards the second edge of the door frame. A coupling mechanism is coupled to the distal end of the first pull arm when the first door leaf attains the partially closed position and converts movement of the distal end of the first pull arm towards the first edge of the door frame to a force directed towards the second edge of the door frame. A connection piece applies force from the coupling mechanism to the closure sequence control mechanism for changing the closure sequence control mechanism from its blocking condition to its releasing condition.

Abstract: A first door closer unit and a first swing arm close a first door leaf of a pair of door leaves arid a second door closer unit and a second swing arm close the second door leaf of the pair. A guide rail supported by a door frame guides the distal ends of the swing arms. A closure sequence controller includes a control member in the guide rail between the distal ends of the swing arms and movable against the force of a spring, a support element stationarily supported by the guide rail, and a movable blocking member. The closure sequence controller is arranged in cooperation with the distal ends of the swing arms at the end phase of the closing movement of the door leaves so that the blocking member prevents movement in the guide rail of the distal end of the second swing arm until the distal end of the first swing arm acts on the blocking member through the control member go that the blocking member allows closing of the second door leaf. The blocking member is arranged in a guiding passage in the support element so that in its blocking position the blocking member extends partly out from the guiding passage into the path of movement of the distal end of the second swing arm.

Abstract: A door operator system for slidable doors comprises an expandable and retractable lattice assembly adapted for connection between a door and a stationary structure. The lattice assembly includes forward and rearward link arms connected together at a pivot joint to form a link arm pair. Several link arm pairs may be pivotally joined together to form the expandable and retractable lattice assembly, such that the distance between a retracted position and an expanded position of the lattice assembly is relatively long. An actuator with a relatively short stroke length has a housing and a shaft that reciprocates with respect to the housing between retracted and extended positions. The housing is connected to a pivot joint of one pair of link arms and the reciprocal shaft is connected to a juxtaposed pivot joint of another pair of link arms. With this arrangement, movement of the shaft over the relatively short stroke length causes the lattice assembly to move between the retracted and expanded positions over the relatively long distance, thereby causing movement of the door with respect to the stationary structure over the relatively long distance. Pneumatic control circuitry for controlling operation of the door and safety features are disclosed.

Abstract: A suspension mechanism for pivotally moving a door panel to close or open a doorway includes a first brace with one end attached to a point low on the panel and the opposite end to a stationary pivot and a second brace with one end attached to the first brace intermediate of its ends and the opposite end slidably and rotatably connected near the top of the panel for support thereof. A stationary but rotatable axial guide receives the second brace intermediate of its ends, and a torque generating spring assists with lifting and opening the panel with energy stored from the lowering of the panel. Abstract: A door closure arrangement is provided for a paint cabinet or like enclosure containing combustible materials. Right and left hand doors are hinged to door jambs in the cabinet's opening and an overlapping lip is provided on one of the doors to insure that no gap between the doors exists when the doors are closed. Door closures, held in an open position by temperature sensitive fusible links, rotate the doors from an open to a closed position should a fire melt the fusible links. A spring biased, lever actuated door sequencing mechanism insures that the doors closed in proper sequence without interference from the overlapping lip. A spring biased, lever actuated mechanism automatically latches or locks the doors when they are rotated into the closed position whereby the adverse effects of the fire on the contents of the cabinet are minimized.

Abstract: One or more spring lock devices are included at the inner sides of a conventional garage door positioned to engage with the side door frame. The spring locks are actuated to the open position by operative connection, usually through tension lines to a garage door drive mechanism, which is connected to the garage door through a lost motion mechanism so that initial movement of the drive mechanism moves the spring lock devices and opens them before the garage door mechanism moves the garage door. Abstract: A door operator for moving a door between a closed position wherein the door extends substantially vertically and closes a door opening and an open position wherein the door extends substantially horizontally and is disposed adjacent the upper edge of the door opening. The operator includes an elongated guide which extends in a substantially horizontal direction away from the door opening. A carriage is engaged with the guide and is movable therealong. Abstract: The hinge comprises a compression spring for balancing the weight of leaves which are hinged on a horizontal axis, such as covers, flaps or the like, particularly in refrigerating chests.
