Abstract:
In an ink jet recording apparatus having two head units, each having a large number of ink nozzles arranged in a line, assembled so that they overlap with each other, an 8-shade image signal is entered into a correction circuit and a line direction position signal is input into a position signal decision circuit. When the position signal decision circuit decides that the position signal represents the overlapping zone of the head units, the shade level of the image signal is divided between the head units. For example, when the shade level of the image signal is 7, one of the head units is allotted the shade level and the other is allotted the shade level. The overlapping nozzles in a pair eject droplets of ink to form one dot.
Abstract:
An ink jet head is provided having ink chambers, energy-generating elements provided in the ink chambers, respectively, and ink outlet ports communicating with the ink chambers, respectively. The ink jet head may be left unused for a time longer than a predetermined time, with a meniscus formed in each ink outlet port. In this case, a drive pulse is applied to each energy-generating element several times, thereby forcing the ink outwards from the ink outlet ports and increasing a surface area of the ink from a surface area of the meniscus. Then, a negative pressure is applied in each ink chamber, thereby drawing the ink back toward the ink chambers, thus forming a meniscus again in the ink outlet ports. In this condition, a drive pulse is applied to the energy-generating elements, thus ejecting an ink droplet from the ink outlet ports to record data.
Abstract:
In accordance with the dither matrix position signal from the dither matrix position signal generating unit, the dither matrix circuits supply respectively corresponding threshold signals to the selector. When the pixel of interest of the input image signal corresponds to two ink outlet ports at each end portion of the head units to be corrected, the selector selects the threshold signal from the end portion dither matrix circuit that is set for the end area, in accordance with the dither matrix selection signal from the dither matrix selection signal generating unit. Therefore, the comparator compares the input image signal with the threshold signal from the end portion dither matrix circuit and converts it into an N-valued signal.

A refrigerating cycle has a condenser, an evaporator, a variable displacement compressor, and an expansion valve. The variable displacement compressor is connected between the condenser and the evaporator to form the refrigerating cycle, and includes a control valve designed to provide a control valve characteristic sloping downward with increase in a discharge pressure. The expansion valve is connected between the condenser and the evaporator, to return a refrigerant from the condenser through the evaporator to the variable displacement compressor, and designed to provide an open valve characteristic whose slope is approximately equal to the downward slope of the control valve characteristic.

An automatic original feeding apparatus has a coordinates position detecting device provided with a supporting table for supporting thereon a sheet original of which the area during image formation is to be designated, a conveying device for directing the inserted sheet original to a predetermined position, and a feed device provided upstream of the conveying device and responsive to the termination of the area designation to change over to a feeding position and feed the sheet original on the supporting table to the conveying device.
Abstract:
An ozone filtering mechanism in an image forming apparatus such as office copiers, etc. and its arrangement, wherein various component elements disposed in the image forming apparatus in such a manner that a flow path for a discharge current of ozone gas generated from a corona discharger and a flow path for heat current from a heat source such as a light source, etc. may be centralized at one place, thereby enabling a single ozone filter to be disposed at this portion of the centralized flow paths for perfect ozone filtration. Presence of the heat current at the time of the ozone filtration promotes adsorption and decomposition of ozone to augment the filtering effect to the maximum possible extent.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for carrying out a kind of trimming operation in electrophotography, wherein a control light of an image region is irradiated onto a photosensitive body through masking members to thereby eliminate electric charge on the photosensitive body and to control the forming region of an electrostatic latent image. The masking members, in their single form, permit the light to pass therethrough, and intercept the same in their overlapped form, polarizing plates being used for the masking members. The latent image formation in the breadthwise direction of the image original is controlled by an overlapping degree of the masking members. The electrostatic latent image formation in the direction perpendicular to the breadthwise direction of the image is controlled by moving the masking members in their overlapped state in synchronism with movement of the photosensitive body, across the light path of the control light in the image region. By these operations, only a desired image region can be reproduced from the image original.
Abstract:
In general, according to one embodiment, an inkjet recording apparatus includes an inkjet head, a conveyance motor, a discharge motor, a printing medium surface sensor and a controller. The inkjet head ejects ink on a printing medium. The discharge motor causes discharge of the printing medium. The printing medium surface sensor, locates at the upper-stream side of the inkjet head apart from the inkjet head in a printing medium conveyance direction, senses a foreign substance representing an image printed on the printing medium beforehand. The controller drives the discharge motor to discharge a printing medium without ejecting ink from the inkjet head if an after-printing mode in which printing is made on the printing medium on which the image is printed beforehand is not set if the foreign substance is detected on the printing medium through the printing medium surface sensor.

A fundus observation apparatus according to an embodiment comprises: a photographing part that photographs the fundus of a subject eye; a forming part comprising an optical system that irradiates signal light onto the fundus and interferes reflected light of the signal light from the fundus with reference light via a reference path and detects the resulting interference light, wherein the forming part forms a tomographic image of the fundus based on the detection result; and an analyzing part that analyzes a photographed image of the fundus from the photographing part to delete predetermined low-frequency components from the photographed image.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, an aqueous inkjet ink includes a color material, water in an amount of 50-70% by mass of the total amount of the ink, and a water-soluble organic solvent in an amount of 29-49% by mass of the total amount. The soluble organic solvent contains a compound represented by the following general formula 1 which accounts for 10-36% by mass of the total amount of ink. When the amount of the compound is equal to the amount of the solvent, the total amount of the solvent is the compound. The sum of the amounts of the color material, the water, and the water-soluble organic solvent is 100% by mass or less of the ink. Where, X1, X2, and X3 each independently represent EOn, and X4 represents an CH3CH2— or an (EOn)O—. EOn is represented by the following general formula 2, where n representing an integer of 1-5. CH2—CH2nOH general formula 2
