Abstract:
A method and apparatus for allowing VoIP service providers to detect service address changes of IP service subscribers are disclosed. Specifically, when a power cycle, e.g., powering off and on, of a particular VoIP endpoint device, such as a Terminal Adaptor (TA) or a soft phone client, is detected, a service provider may assume that the service address of the subscriber has changed. Therefore, appropriate actions can be taken by the service provider to obtain the latest service address from the subscriber to ensure accurate service address information is available, e.g., in support of an emergency call through the particular VoIP endpoint device.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for quickly reducing and/or stopping human carbon monoxide exposure and/or inhalation in connection with the operation of a gas powered boat. The present invention may be adapted to a wide variety of boats, new or used, wherever carbon monoxide is produced in connection with the operation of a boat. In addition to swim steps, ladders, sun decks, platforms and swim platforms, the present invention may be adapted to virtually any form of device on a boat where carbon monoxide and one or more humans may be present.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for improved mobile radio telecommunications employs the transmission of a pilot reference signal within the coherence band of the modulated carrier wave. The receiver in this system uses instantaneous phase estimation techniques of the pilot and carrier received waveforms to provide immunity from phase distortion introduced by the channel.
Abstract:
The invention comprises a method and apparatus for adjusting a distribution schedule controlling distribution of network device configuration changes associated with a plurality of network devices. Specifically, the method comprises determining a distribution status of the distribution of network device configuration changes, comparing the distribution status to the distribution schedule, and adjusting the distribution schedule in response to a difference between the distribution schedule and the distribution status.
Abstract:
The water treatment apparatus includes a first and a second fitting adapted for being connected to a supply of fluid and to a container for the treated fluid, a longitudinally elongated rod having a first end mounting the first fitting and a second end mounting the second fitting and a first and a second vortexian spiral tube portion respectively having a first end fluidly connected to the first and second fitting. Each tube portions includes a plurality of loops and a plurality of somewhat linear sections serially connecting adjacent loops to one another. Where each tube portion includes seven loops, advantageously the area encompassed by the loops of each tube in the direction from one fitting to the other is 1:1:2:3:5:8:13:13:8:8:5:2:1:1 with the larger areas loops being fluidly connected to one another.
