Abstract:
This product, Edu-Plate, is a paper (or plastic) disposable plate on which a child will eat his/her meal.It will have a stimulating, and/or historical, or a topical question on the top side, and the answer to the question will be fun, and informative, and will appear on the bottom of the plate.Edu-Plate is an innovative product geared toward children who are interested in learning interesting new (to them) ideas and facts designed to inspire them, and to open up their imaginations to new concepts to help expand their learning horizons.
Abstract:
An exercise apparatus is implemented with a frame with a horizontal and vertical component and a rotatable endless belt mounted on the horizontal frame component, the belt having a surface for supporting a user. Vertical frame component has an upper body engaging element connected thereto and adapted to engage the shoulders of a user during a portion of an exercise cycle. An actuator is disposed between the upper body engaging element and the vertical frame component, wherein an increase in actuator length raises the height of the upper body engaging element relative to the belt. The upper body engaging element is positioned at a start position of low height to engage the user in a low-level position at a beginning of the exercise cycle, and the upper body engaging element increases in height as the user accelerates and rises to a fully upright position.
Abstract:
A data preservation system for flash memory systems with a host system, the flash memory system receiving a host system power supply and energizing an auxiliary energy store therewith and communicating with the host system via an interface bus, wherein, upon loss of the host system power supply, the flash memory system actively isolates the connection to the host system power supply and isolates the interface bus and employs the supplemental energy store to continue write operations to flash memory.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for measuring pulmonary blood flow in a subject by pulmonary exchange of oxygen and an inert gas with the blood using a divided respiratory system. One method of isolating two or more divisions of the respiratory system uses a multi-lumen cuffed endobronchial catheter. In one embodiment, a triple-lumen cuffed endobronchial catheter is provided. In another embodiment, gas mixtures are supplied to each lumen using a bag-in-a-box type ventilator for each breathing system for synchronizing the rate and pressure of mixed gas supplied to the lumens.
Abstract:
In wool scouring systems in which scouring liquor is continuously withdrawn from the scouring bowls for separation of solid contaminants and wool grease and then recycled to the bowls, improved separation of solids is achieved by adding a soluble silicate, and preferably also a polyelectrolyte to the liquor before solids separation. Silicate can advantageously replace soda as scouring agent. Improved operation can also be obtained by controlled flow down from the circulatory system, as at 27, and by passing the jet phase from a disc centrifuge 17 to a decanter centrifuge 15 for further separation of solids. Alternatively, the entire liquor circulation may be passed first to the disc centrifuge and only the jet phase to the decanter, the middle liquor phase being recycled.
Abstract:
The invention relates to herringbone struts, in particular to such a strut made from a single piece of metal and having a cross-section of generally 'M'-shape in transverse cross-section with end flanges which are inclined at angles of greater than 90.degree. to the longitudinal axis of the strut so that in use the strut is inclined when it is secured between two joists.
Abstract:
An amphibious aircraft has a tricycle landing gear that is fixed. Each member of the landing gear is protected in the forward direction by a hydrodynamic protector, or vane, or shoe, such as may tend to create lift when brought into engagement with water, as during landing. The landing gear protector vanes may be mounted to move with extension and retraction of the landing gear. The landing gear wheels protrude to extend partially downwardly proud of the sole of the shoe. The shoes may include sacrificial wear members for ground engagement.
Abstract:
A high-intensity interval training method comprises supporting an individual upon an upper body engaging element in a forwardly inclined position while the individual is propelling himself in a forward motion on a non-motorized rotatable endless belt; obtaining a performance feedback by sensing at least one of a rotation of the belt and an impact force exerted upon the upper body engaging element by the individual during the exercise cycles; and using the performance feedback to measure performance of the individual and control the exercise cycles to create an exercise regimen that requires the user to operate at at least about 85% of the individual maximum capacity during the high intensity anaerobic intervals.
Abstract:
A power operated retractable stop assembly includes a body, a drive arm, and a stop arm. The drive arm is pivotable between a pre-locked position and an unlocked position. There is a locked position between the pre-locked position and the unlocked position. The stop arm is pivotally mounted to the body, has a front side for engaging a workpiece, and a back side for engaging the drive arm. A rotary driving means is connected to a reciprocatable member that drives the drive arm.
