Abstract:
A new cultivar of Miscanthus sinensis plant named ‘Red Zenith’ that is characterized by its exhibits a strong and vigorous plant habit, creating a v-shaped form tightly gathered at the base, its average plant height of 2 m, its foliage that is dark green in color with well-delineated white strips turning yellow striped in autumn, flowers that are vibrant red in sunlight with a pink sheen when young and fading to a paler red in late autumn, and its upright v-shaped flower tassels on thick peduncles.
Abstract:
A toilet protective overlay device assembly, comprising a body for fitting over a toilet bowl rim, sized to the approximate dimensions of the outer edge of the rim to overlap the rim, the body having a top side and a bottom side. The body includes plurality of openings to receive a clamp having a non-mar surface in contact with the rim, with a plurality of clamps positioned individually through the openings to secure the body to the toilet rim, and clamps able to move within the openings to adjust the fit of the body on the rim. A flexible hose is connected so as to provide a conduit through an opening in the body, with the conduit passing from the top of the body past the bottom of the body, with a portion of the flexible hose inserted into a toilet fixture trap.
Abstract:
A high-intensity interval training method comprises supporting an individual upon an upper body engaging element in a forwardly inclined position while the individual is propelling himself in a forward motion on a non-motorized rotatable endless belt; obtaining a performance feedback by sensing at least one of a rotation of the belt and an impact force exerted upon the upper body engaging element by the individual during the exercise cycles; and using the performance feedback to measure performance of the individual and control the exercise cycles to create an exercise regimen that requires the user to operate at at least about 85% of the individual maximum capacity during the high intensity anaerobic intervals.
Abstract:
A data preservation system for flash memory systems with a host system, the flash memory system receiving a host system power supply and energizing an auxiliary energy store therewith and communicating with the host system via an interface bus, wherein, upon loss of the host system power supply, the flash memory system actively isolates the connection to the host system power supply and isolates the interface bus and employs the supplemental energy store to continue write operations to flash memory.
Abstract:
A power operated retractable stop assembly includes a body, a drive arm, and a stop arm. The drive arm is pivotable between a pre-locked position and an unlocked position. There is a locked position between the pre-locked position and the unlocked position. The stop arm is pivotally mounted to the body, has a front side for engaging a workpiece, and a back side for engaging the drive arm. When the drive arm is driven to the unlocked position, the drive arm and the stop arm interact to cause the stop arm to follow the drive arm and move to a stop arm released position. This precludes the stop arm from balancing at the stop arm locked position.
Abstract:
A hanging picture gallery or album comprises a plurality of relatively large plastic sheets, each formed with a large number of pockets adapted to retain individual photographs. In the preferred embodiment, the pockets are formed on both sides of each sheet, and the plastic sheets are vertically retained on a special multiple hook support in turn adapted to hang from the top of a door. The number of plastic sheets is limited only by the size of the hooks on the special multiple hook support. Ten to fifty sheets may be accommodated on a special multiple hook support without unduly stressing a solid properly hung door. Each sheet may have twenty to fifty pockets for photographs on each side, all on one side viewable at the same time. In the preferred embodiment, the sheets are slightly less than 30″ wide to conveniently be hung from the hooks on the back side of a closet door or bedroom door. Several optional configurations of the special multiple hook support are disclosed for doors of different thickness and for manually carrying the gallery or album.
Abstract:
A sheet handling system having a number of sheet processing modules (1-4) linked together to enable sleets to pass between them. Each sheet processing module (1-4) includes at least one sheet monitoring or handling component and a set of nodes (23, 32, 43, 62), each including a processor, wherein each sheet processing module is controlled by one or more nodes. A distributed control system is arranged logically into a number of subsystems, the functions of each subsystem being performed by one or more of the nodes. A communications network (24) links the nodes together to enable the nodes to operate in synchronism and to communicate with each other.
Abstract:
New echiboline derivatives with opioid properties which are 6-hydroxy-9-methyl-echiboline derivatives having, in the 10-position, a hydrocarbon substituent of up to 4 carbon atoms--preferably a group R.CH.sub.2 -- (wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group of up to 3 carbons) and especially a methyl, cyclopropyl-methyl or allyl group. These are made by dealkylating corresponding 6-alkoxy-9-methyl-10-substituted echibolines, thereby converting the 6-alkoxy group to a 6-hydroxy group, especially using boron tribromide as dealkylating reagent.Specific examples are 6-hydroxy-9,10-dimethyl-echiboline, 6-hydroxy-9-methyl-10-allyl-echiboline and 6-hydroxy-9-methyl-10-cyclopropylmethyl-echiboline.The compounds may be in free base or salt form, and be incorporated as active ingredient into pharmaceutical compositions. Also, the corresponding 6-alkoxy-9-methyl-10-substituted echiboline derivatives as useful novel intermediates, which may be made from a 6-alkoxy-9-methyl-echiboline by (A) reaction with a reagent which introduces the desired substituent into 10-position or (B) acylating to introduce the substituent R--CO-- into the 10-position and reducing the acyl group to RCH.sub.2 --.
Abstract:
Elements for forming a frame such as a metal door frame having spring clips by which a head rail and side members are connected, and a spacer or tie bar by which the elements can be stabilized during erection of the frame in a door way.
Abstract:
A new cultivar of Miscanthus sinensis plant named ‘Sunlit Satin’ that is characterized by its medium size compact, upright plant habit with a tight base; an average of 1.3 m in height, its upright flower tassels that when opening that have a satiny sheen and are pink in color, its foliage that has a thick central variegated stripe to provide early in the season interest, its flower tassels that turn to copper color later in the season above the maturing foliage, its foliage that has a thick central variegated stripe to provide early in the season interest, and its resilient, wiry foliage with wispy leaf ends that easily follow the direction of the wind.
