Abstract:
A protection mechanism for terminals of memory stick adapter includes two outer casings, a circuit board unit, and a framework. Multiple plugging terminals disposed to one end of the circuit board unit for connecting to the memory stick are covered up or exposed by means of a mobile protection cover. A locating groove is disposed on a sliding plate each provided on both sides of the cover An elastic arm on an inner edge of each of both sides of the framework is disposed with an inclined protruding block to secure the cover in conjunction with the locating groove. The block breaking away from the locating groove as the elastic arm moves out upon insertion of the memory stick to retreat the cover and expose those plugging terminals for facilitating insertion of the memory stick.

According to the disclosure, an accessory device coupled at a universal serial bus connector of a portable electronic device is detected and identified via the identification pin of the universal serial bus connector. When it is identified that the accessory device supports 1-wire communication via the identification pin, the accessory device is accessed via the 1-wire communication via the identification pin.
Abstract:
An electronic device and a method for driving an internal function block of a processor of the electric device to operate in a linear region. The electronic device comprises a processor having two multiple purpose pins (MPP1 and MPP2), an external device connection port, and two resistance elements. The external device connection port is further connected to the MPP1 and at a tested voltage. The first resistance element is connected between a high level voltage and the external device connection port. The second resistance element is connected between the external device connection port and the MPP2. The processor is configured to output the high or low level voltage at MPP2 when the tested voltage is in a non-linear operating region, to guarantee the tested voltage to a linear operating region of the function block which is coupled to the MPP1 by a multiplexing design.
Abstract:
A portable electronic apparatus and a connection method therefore are disclosed. The portable electronic apparatus comprises a connector, a processing circuit, and a switch module. After a plug is plugged into the connector, the processing circuit reads a voltage value of the plug via the switch module. When determining that the voltage value of the plug is within a first voltage range, the processing circuit outputs switch signals to the switch module, so that an input signal of the plug is able to be transmitted to the processing circuit via the connector and the switch module. When determining that the voltage value of the plug is within a second voltage range, the processing circuit outputs other switch signals to the switch module, so that an output signal of the processing circuit is able to be transmitted to the plug via the switch module and the connector.
Abstract:
An ExpressCard solid-state storage device is disclosed herein, which receives an access command coming from a computational device and accesses data accordingly. The ExpressCard solid-state storage device includes a circuit board, an ExpressCard interface, a flash memory, and a controller. When the ExpressCard interface of the storage device is inserted into a corresponding interface of the computational device, the ExpressCard solid-state storage device is electrically connected with the computational device. Then the controller receives a write, read or erase command, which is from the computational device and through the ExpressCard interface, and writes data into the flash memory or reads/erases data from the flash memory accordingly.
Abstract:
An electronic device includes a housing, a connector port and a switching device. The connector port receives a peripheral device. The processor is electrically connected to the connector port and includes a detection pin and a 1-wire pin. The switching device is coupled between the connector port and the processor to selectively connect the connector port to one of the detection pin or the 1-wire pin. When the peripheral device is inserted into the connector port, the processor controls the switching device to connect the connector port to the detection pin to determine whether the connected peripheral device is a 1-wire device. When the processor determines that the connected peripheral device is a 1-wire device, the processor controls the switching device to connect the connector port to the 1-wire pin and the processor executes 1-wire communication with the peripheral device via the 1-wire pin.

Abstract:
A portable electronic device is provided. Connector includes the first and data pins. Processor includes input and output pins and detection pin coupled to the input pin. First resistor is coupled between the detection pin and first voltage. When the processor detects that the first and second pins of charger are coupled to the first and second data pins of the connector, the processor provides switching signal to the selector, so as to couple the first and second data pins of the connector to the input and output pins of the processor, respectively, and to provide second voltage different from the first voltage, to the second pin of the charger via the output pin. The processor obtains charging current value of the charger according to voltage of the detection pin. The charger includes second resistor coupled between the first and second pins.
