Abstract:
A cellular communication system comprises a Multiple-In Multiple-Out, MIMO, transmitter (101) and receiver (103). The MIMO transmitter (101) comprises a message generator (303) for generating MIMO messages comprising selected training sequences and transceivers (305, 307, 309) transmitting the messages on a plurality of antennas (311, 313, 315). The training sequences are selected by a midamble selector (317) from a set of training sequences in response to an associated antenna on which the message is to be transmitted. The set of training sequences is associated with the cell of the MIMO transmitter and comprises disjoint subsets of training sequences for each of the plurality of antennas. The receiver (103) comprises a transmit antenna detector (419) which determines which antenna of the MIMO transmitter the message is transmitted from in response to the training sequence of the received message.
Abstract:
A method (400) and arrangement (200) for mitigation of intercell and intracell interference in a 3GPP cellular communication system (100) by, in a receiver in a cell of the system, deriving for a first channel in the cell a signal, representative of first channel transfer function (A(1)); deriving for at least a second channel originating in a different cell a signal (A(2 . . . M)), representative of second channel transfer function, based on: deriving a cell specific scrambling code (s), deriving a channel impulse response (h), and deriving a channelisation code (c); and performing multi-user detection using the first and second signals. Where the channelisation code is unknown, a substitute channelisation code is preferably substituted. It will be appreciated that the technique can be applied to both downlink and uplink. This provides the advantage that both intra-cell interference and intercell interference are mitigated.
Abstract:
Aspects of the invention include a root node of a wireless communication infrastructure that buffers data packets for transmission by base stations over an air interface. The root node determines a time delay for transmission of a data packet from the root node to each base station, a maximum time delay of those time delays, and a timing latency based upon the maximum time delay. The root node transmits the timing latency to the base stations. In response, each base station initiates transmission of data packets received by the root node after expiration of the timing latency. Alternatively, the root node, instead of the base stations, may buffer the data packets, and transmit them so that they arrive at the base stations at substantially the same time.
Abstract:
A deep fryer that saves oil and expedites the deep frying process when frying small batches of food. By reducing the size of the lower portion of the food basket and oil pot with the present invention the user need only fill a smaller cubic area of the lower portion of the oil pot thereby reducing the amount of oil needed when cooking small batches of food which in turn saves the user money. Since the lower portion of the oil pot and food basket are smaller in cubic area than their respective upper portions less oil is needed to be heated thereby reducing the time for frying small batches of food. This saves time and energy costs.A large batch of food can also be fried in the present invention by simply adding more oil to utilize the entire oil pot and food basket.
Abstract:
A method and system for managing redirection for use with a system. The system includes a first webpage and a second webpage. The first webpage is operable to redirect a browser to the second webpage and subsequently, the second webpage is operable to redirect the browser to the first webpage by using a first pre-determined identifier associated with the first webpage. A second identifier associated with a component of the first webpage is assigned. In response to the second webpage redirecting the browser to the first webpage by using the first pre-determined identifier, the first pre-determined identifier is compared against the second identifier to determine whether the second identifier is different from the first pre-determined identifier. In response to a determination that the second identifier is different from the first pre-determined identifier, the browser is redirected to the component of the first webpage by using the second identifier.
Abstract:
A restraining kit for restraining a person in a vehicle, includes a wearable harness which is wearable by a person and securing means for securing the wearable harness to a body of the vehicle when it is being worn by the person. The wearable harness includes shoulder straps, a waist strap and a crotch strap and the securing means is a second harness which is secured or securable to a seat of the vehicle. The restraining kit includes a buckle clip mechanism by which the wearable harness is securable to the second harness.
Abstract:
Provided are methods, apparatus and computer programs for generating messages, for transferring data between data processing system entities such as between application programs running on data processing systems within a network, and for providing file-oriented data processing system entities with access to data and access to messaging functions. A first method generates messages for transfer within a messaging network, by creating files within one or more monitored file system directories, and using a monitoring component to identify newly created files within the monitored directories. The method involves extracting the file contents and generating a message that includes the extracted file contents, and then passing the message to a messaging manager.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus and computer programs for flexible topic identification in a publish/subscribe communications network. Publishers and subscribers are able to specify their intentions regarding the topic classification schemes to be used by a publish/subscribe broker during subscription matching, and the broker is responsive to the specified intentions of either or both of the publisher or the subscriber to invoke a respective subscription matching component. The invoked matching components each implement a subscription matching process that is consistent with a specified topic classification scheme.
