Abstract:
A machine for making absorbent sanitary articles includes a device for feeding a continuous strip to a conveyor roller and to a device for cutting the strip into first and second pieces. A unit forms and applies at least a pair of first and second pieces, aligned and spaced by a distance (d), for each absorbent article A first and a second roller each comprising a plurality of units pick up and successively release of first and the second pieces. A plurality of concentric units rotating, independently of each other, about a shared axis of rotation, each carries at least one unit. A motor defines a respective law of motion for each of the units and a mechanism translates the units, between a position for picking up the pieces, at the conveyor roller, and a position for releasing the pieces, at the forming and applying unit.

Abstract:
A method for making absorbent sanitary articles which include a permeable inner layer, an impermeable outer layer and an absorbent pad enclosed between them; the absorbent pad includes a first bottom layer and a second top layer between which an absorbent core is enclosed; the method includes a step of forming the absorbent pad; the step of forming the absorbent pad includes a step of feeding a first continuous web, which will define the first bottom layer and a second continuous web, which will define the second top layer, and a step of interposing between the first web and the second web at least a third web which has a plurality of openings and which will define the absorbent core; the method includes a step of feeding a third continuous web along a feed direction and a step of cutting the third continuous web to obtain the openings.
Abstract:
A process for forming an absorbent sanitary article of the type including a pad having a direction of main extension, including a step of at least one absorbent core of the absorbent article by layering a corresponding composite web, a step of preparing a succession of hollows in the composite web obtained by removing for each hollow a corresponding portion of the composite web and a step of applying the portions removed on the composite web.
Abstract:
In a method for making absorbent sanitary articles, each absorbent article includes a pair of side tabs fed from a single continuous tape divided by oblique cuts into first and second series of side tabs oriented in opposite directions. The side tabs of the first and second series are then fed along a first path and along a second path, respectively and are first rotated by 180° and then combined and transferred separately along a third, common path along which each tab of the first series has a respective tab of the second series placed alongside it to form a pair of side tabs. At least one of the side tabs of each pair is moved sideways such that each pair of side tabs is applied to a continuous web of material at a predetermined spacing.
Abstract:
A device for processing a web of material for making nappies includes a rotary shaft having a first axis, a plurality of pads for receiving and holding the web. The pads are rotatable about the first axis and are movable relative to the first axis during operation. A plurality of anvils, each interposed between two consecutive pads, are connected with the rotary shaft and are rotatable with it about the first axis. A unit acting in conjunction with the anvils cuts the web into lengths. A first motor is mounted inside the device and connected to the pads to translate the pads along a radial direction at right angles to the first axis and a second motor is mounted inside the device and connected to the pads to rotate the pads about a second axis coinciding with the radial direction.
Abstract:
An ultrasonic welding system and method for making welds on a strip made of polymeric material. The system includes a supporting structure, N welding equipment mounted thereon, and a processor. Each N welding equipment includes a pair of welding heads made of a sonotrode, including a sonotrode welding surface, and an anvil, including an anvil welding surface. One of the two welding heads is movable with respect to the other between a non-operating position and a welding position. A control member is operatively associated with the sonotrode and configured to vibrate the sonotrode at a nominal ultrasonic vibration frequency and to detect a current value of the vibration frequency. A vibration sensor is mounted on the movable welding head. The processor monitors the alignment condition between the sonotrode welding surface and the anvil welding surface by cooperating with the control member and with the vibration sensor.
Abstract:
A production line of absorbent sanitary articles and method of predictive detection of defects of absorbent sanitary articles, wherein it is provided to: detect current values of operating parameters which are indicative of the current operation of at least one production device adapted to perform respective production operations on the absorbent sanitary articles being processed along the production line; perform a comparison between the current values of the detected operating parameters and respective predetermined reference values; in the presence of at least one anomalous operating parameter that does not comply with the respective predetermined reference values, identify, among a plurality of possible malfunctioning causes of the line, at least one current malfunctioning cause responsible for the at least one anomalous operating parameter; and make a prediction of any defects in the absorbent sanitary articles being processed along the line starting from the at least one current malfunctioning cause identified.
