Abstract:
A picture data memory device which can be used universally comprises a central picture data memory for storing picture data of a plurality of picture data input channels, in which case the stored picture data can additionally be read out via a plurality of picture data output channels for different kinds of further processing. A memory controller is provided for coordinating the individual storage operations of the picture data input channels and the individual rend-out operations of the picture data output channels.
Abstract:
An image includes a plurality of image blocks each including a plurality of pixels and having an associated motion vector. The image is processed by selecting an image block and a corner region (E1x) located in a corner of the selected image block to provide a selected corner region. A plurality of adjacent image blocks located adjacent to the selected corner region are then selected from the plurality of image blocks. The motion vectors assigned to the adjacent image blocks are then compared to determine if the motion vectors form a homogeneous vector field. When the motion vectors of the adjacent image blocks form a homogeneous vector field, a motion vector for the corner region is generated from the motion vectors of the adjacent image blocks. When the motion vectors of the adjacent image blocks do not form a homogeneous vector field, the motion vector for the corner region is set equal to the motion vector of the image block.
Abstract:
A method is described for selecting a motion vector for a first image block of an image of an image sequence from a number of test vectors, to which respectively a significance measurement is assigned, wherein at least one of these test vectors is a motion vector of a further image block that is arranged temporally and/or spatially adjacent to the first image block, or a vector formed by modification of this motion vector, and wherein the method covers: Determining a distance measurement for each test vector, Determining a modified distance measurement to each test vector depending on the distance measurement determined to this test vector and additionally at least on the significance measurement assigned to this test vector, Selecting one of the test vectors as motion vector depending on the modified distance measurements, Determining a new distance measurement of the test vector selected as motion vector depending on whether the selected motion vector meets at least one significance criterion, and assigning this new significance measurement as significance measurement to the motion vector for the selection of a motion vector for a third image block, in which the motion vector of the first image block or a vector formed by modification of this motion vector is selected as test vector.

Abstract:
A device for correcting the phase of a vertically distorted digital picture receives picture data and a vertical phase correction signal, and assigns lines of the digital picture to a first half picture and to a second half picture. The lines of the second half picture are phase corrected with respect to the first half picture and the first and second half pictures are displayed sequentially. The phase correction is determined in response an increment signal that describes the change of an imaging factor in the veritcal direction of the digital picture on a line-by-line basis and a picture position signal indicative of whether the first half picture or the second half picture is being output.
Abstract:
Method for motion-vector-aided interpolation of a pixel of an intermediate image lying between two input images includes a first pixel being selected from a first field and a second pixel being selected from a second field using a first motion vector, and a third pixel being selected from the first field and a fourth pixel being selected from the second field using a second motion vector. Next, an interval specified by video information values of the first pixel and the second pixel or an interval specified by video information values of the third pixel and the fourth pixel is determined and the video information values are mixed such that the video information value of the pixel to be interpolated lies within this interval.
