Abstract:
The present invention relates to a variable focus lens. The variable focus lens comprises a fluid chamber having a protrusion formed along one opened end thereof. The fluid chamber is cylindrically shaped to house first and second non-miscible fluids therein, and the first and second fluids have different refractive indices. A transparent element hermetically is coupled with the opened end of the chamber with a predetermined gap from the protrusion of the chamber. A first electrode is disposed inside the chamber to act on the first fluid, and a second electrode is insulated from the first electrode. The variable focus lens can be easily fabricated to prevent bubble formation with the protrusion formed at the opened end of the chamber.
Abstract:
The invention provides a variable focus liquid lens using electrowetting, comprising a conductive first liquid and an insulating second liquid. At least one of the first liquid composed of electrolyte and the second liquid composed of insulating liquid contains a surfactant for reducing interfacial energy between the first and second liquids. An interfacial portion between the first and second liquids is gathered by surfactant to reduce driving voltage. The variable focus liquid lens according to the invention has about 50% lower driving voltage required for changing focus, ensuring stability of the two fluids.
Abstract:
A method for separating oxidation catalysts used for producing trimellitic acid, which comprises the steps of: adding water to a reactor effluent in a volume ratio of water to the reactor effluent of 0:1 to 11:1, the reactor effluent being in a slurry state and resulting from oxidizing pseudocumene with air in an acetic acid and in the presence of cobalt, manganese and bromine catalysts; heating the mixture of water and the reactor effluent to a temperature of 25.degree. to 140.degree. C. to make the slurry be a diluted reactor effluent in a liquid phase; passing the diluted reactor effluent through ion exchange resins, to adsorb cobalt, manganese and bromine ions on the resins; regenerating the resins with an eluting solution; and isolating the oxidation catalysts from an effluent, shows recoveries of at least 99 wt % for cobalt, at least 99 wt % for manganese and at least 90 wt % for bromine.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a functional table for patient transportation, including: a patient supporter which supports a patient laid thereon and allows the patient to be horizontally slidably transported, with its both sides being changed in their angle with respect to a vertical axis of the patient; a support frame which is located in the central bottom of the patient supporter and allows the patient supporter to be vertically moved; a base frame which is connected to the bottom of the support frame and supports the whole of functional table; and at least three transporting wheels which are connected to the base frame and allow the functional table to be freely moved.
Abstract:
A horizontally movable bowling bag providing ease of use and maintenance, the bowling bag includes: a frame having a space defined therein to store a plurality of bowling balls; a ball support assembled to or integrally formed with the frame to support each of the plurality of bowling balls in the space; casters provided at a lower side of the frame to allow the frame to move in a horizontal direction, each of the plurality of casters comprising a coupling member removably coupled thereto so as to be exposed to an outside of the frame, a fixing boss fixed in a support hole in the frame using the coupling member, and a drive wheel coupled to a lower end of the fixing boss so as to be freely rotatable; and a handle integrally coupled to one side of the frame, the handle being configured to be adjustable in length.
Abstract:
A horizontally movable bowling bag is provided to prevent movement of a bowling ball configured such that, in order to prevent movement or falling of the bowling ball when a frame is horizontally moved or when a cover is opened, four or more points of the bowling ball including a lower part of the bowling ball and a bottom surface of the bowling ball along an outer circumference thereof are adjacent to or supported by an upper part of a ball cup provided at the frame and an inner surface of the frame, whereby movement of the bowling ball in the frame is prevented when the frame is horizontally moved.
Abstract:
A focusing board assembly for a medical imaging equipment gives a comfortable feeling mentally or physically by visually getting rid of an oppressive feeling arisen when a patient is in a tunnel-like enclosed space such as MRI or CT for his/her medical examination.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of measuring haze including transmitting light, generated by a light source, through a sample; converting the light, transmitted through the sample, into parallel light through a null lens; and separating the light, transmitted through the null lens, into parallel light and diffused light through an integrating sphere and then measuring haze.
