摘要: A surgical instrument that can include a proximal control mechanism that includes an opening through which a resilient latch arm is inserted into the proximal control mechanism and engages a locking surface of a fixed latch structure contained within the proximal control mechanism; means for receiving a release tool through an outer periphery of the proximal control mechanism and beyond the opening through which the resilient latch arm enters the proximal control mechanism, the means for receiving the release tool remaining uncovered when the resilient latch arm is attached to the fixed latch structure, and means for providing a fulcrum for the release tool on the outer periphery of the proximal control mechanism such that the release tool can release the surgical instrument by prying the resilient latch arm away from the locking surface of the fixed latch structure using the release tool as a lever.

The anchor contacts a trigger which opens a gate assembly to release a locking member which locks to the anchor. A lever arm allows for release which resets the clasp.

摘要: A surgical instrument includes a proximal control mechanism having an instrument control surface. The instrument control surface has two openings through which two resilient latch arms can be inserted to engage a fixed latch structure contained within the proximal control mechanism. The fixed latch structure provides two lead-in ramps that force the resilient latch arms onto locking surfaces. The resilient latch arms are contained entirely within the proximal control mechanism when engaged. Inward forces can be applied to two buttons to apply an outward force on the resilient latch arms and release them from the locking surfaces of the fixed latch structure. Each of the two buttons is accessible from one of two opposite outside surfaces of the proximal control mechanism.

摘要: An instrument carriage provides control of a surgical instrument coupled to the instrument carriage. The instrument carriage includes a control surface that is coupled to the surgical instrument to provide the control. A detection pin having a first proximal end that extends from the control surface is coupled to the instrument carriage. A magnet is fixed to a distal end of the detection pin. A carriage controller provides an indication that the surgical instrument is coupled to the instrument carriage when movement of the detection pin causes an output signal from a Hall effect sensor to exceed a threshold value that is stored in the carriage controller as part of a calibration procedure during the assembly of the instrument carriage. Surgical instrument removal may be indicated when detection pin movement causes the output signal to be less than an instrument removal threshold value of less than the instrument threshold value.

摘要: An apparatus adapted to house a component oriented in a first direction used for facilitating insertion and removal of the component in a second direction to/from a chassis, the first direction orthogonal to the second direction. The apparatus can be a caddy with an attached pivoting handle. Pivoting the handle in the first direction down towards the caddy causes the hard drive to slide in the second direction to couple with a hard drive coupling on the chassis. In some implementations, the caddy houses a hard drive in a vertical orientation, such that multiple hard drives can be coupled side-by-side to each other. In some implementations, the caddy is removably attached to the chassis. The chassis can comprise a rail, and the handle can comprise a hook. The hook attaches to the rail forming a removable attachment that allows for easy removal and insertion of the caddy.

摘要: The present invention relates to a hole-saw assembly (10) including a hole saw (26) having at one end a plurality of cutting teeth and at the other end two shafts. The assembly includes a mandrel (16) coaxially aligned with said hole-saw and including a body having two bores there through coaxially aligned with said shafts. An annulus (20) located on top of the body is coaxially aligned with said mandrel and hole saw and includes two holes, the annulus rotatable around its longitudinal axis from a first to a second position. In the first position the annulus holes are aligned with the bores and shafts allowing the shafts to be freely insertable and removable and in the second position the holes are misaligned to lock the shafts to the annulus. The mandrel further includes a pair of driving pins (22) adapted to engage driving apertures (24) found in hole saws especially larger ones. Typically the driving pins may biased to enable the assembly to be used even with those hole saws that do not include driving apertures and that also enables easier assembly of the device. A compressible O-ring (42) may further facilitate the operation of the assembly. This device avoids the problem of thread stripping.
