Abstract:
Provided is a lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engines comprising at least one hydrocarbon base stock which is determined to exhibit a 100° C. PVC/40° C. PVC ratio approaching one or greater, and one or more lubricating additives. Also provided is a method for preparing such a composition, which includes determining the 100° C. PVC/40° C. PVC ratio of a hydrocarbon base stock oil, and selecting a hydrocarbon base stock oil which exhibits a 100° C. PVC/40° C. PVC ratio approaching one. One or more lubricating additives are then added to the selected base stock oil.
Abstract:
An automatic banking machine operates responsive to data read from data bearing records to cause financial transfers. The machine includes a card reader that reads data corresponding to financial accounts from user cards, and carries out transactions related to the accounts. The machine includes a camera, a microphone, and the card reader at a customer interface located at the front of the machine. A servicer display device is at a servicer interface located at the rear of the machine. The customer interface and servicer interface can be placed in audio/visual communication. Although a front servicer may not be directly visible to a rear servicer, they are still able to communicate with each other through the customer interface and servicer interface during machine servicing. The servicer interface can also be used to allow a lone servicer to be audibly/visually alerted to a potential customer approaching the machine.
Abstract:
An automatic banking machine includes a card reader for reading user cards, and a cash dispenser. A movable camera is positionable within the ATM housing. The automated banking machine carries out transactions related to user accounts based on information read from cards. Service personnel are enabled to direct the camera toward regions of machine components while conducting service activities that are not directly visible by a servicer. A camera assembly includes a microphone to sense sounds associated with machine components during test operations. The generated data may be used by an on-site servicer, or sent to an entity at a remote location. The visual images may be used to enhance diagnostic and servicing capabilities.
Abstract:
An item of food packaging is disclosed. The item of packaging comprises two opposing side panels and an inner chamber for holding food and is adapted such that when in use the side panels may be folded away from each other so as to form a tray.
Abstract:
A focusing apparatus for use with an optical system having a high NA objective lens includes an image forming and capturing mechanism for forming an image in an intermediate image zone and for capturing an image by receiving and refocusing light from a selected focal plane within the intermediate image zone, and a focus adjusting mechanism for adjusting the position of the selected focal plane within the intermediate image zone. The image forming and capturing mechanism includes at least one high NA lens. In use, spherical aberration introduced by the high NA objective lens is reduced.

Abstract:
Methods are provided for purification of Factor VIII polypeptides by affinity chromatography and ion exchange chromatography, in which the eluate from the affinity column is diluted with a solution comprising higher salt concentration, or lower non-polar agent concentration than that of the elution solution, prior to passing the diluted solution through the ion exchange column. The affinity matrix may comprise a monoclonal antibody or a peptide ligand. The methods result in improved purification without significant yield loss.
Abstract:
A cash dispensing automated banking machine, such as an ATM, has leveling legs. The legs are also used to fasten the ATM to a shipping pallet. Each leg has a support foot and an opposite free end. The free end is inserted through an opening in an intermediate shipping plate. With the shipping plate situated between the foot and the ATM underside, the free end is screwed into an underside opening. The leg is rotated until the plate is raised to be secure against the underside. The plate is then set on the pallet and fastened thereto by lag screws. The pallet includes horizontally adjustable stabilizing feet at sides thereof. The pallet feet can be extended outward to decrease the ability of a supported ATM to tip over. When not needed, such as during pallet storage, the feet can be retracted inward to reduce pallet size.
Abstract:
A method of secure communication includes encoding a communication by separating the communication into at least two communication parts, such that each of the at least two communication parts comprises at least a portion of the communication. The communication parts may further be encoded with random or pseudo-random data. The at least two communication parts are transmitted over separate wired communication channels, and subsequently decoded to reconstruct the communication.
