Abstract:
The invention relates to the treatment of water, including for example treatment in connection with hydrocarbon production operations. Silica in water produces undesirable scaling in processing equipment, which causes excess energy usage and maintenance problems. Electrocoagulation (EC) at relatively high water temperature followed by ultra-filtration (UF filtration) may be combined with forward osmosis (FO) to treat water. Water to be treated may be produced water that has been pumped from a subterranean reservoir. The treated water may be employed to generate steam. The treatment units (e.g., EC, forward osmosis, UF filtration, etc) can be configured into one system as an on-site installation or a mobile unit for on-site or off-site water treatment.
Abstract:
A method of stressing and screening static random access memory (SRAM) arrays to identify memory cells with bit line side pass transistor defects. After writing initial data states into the memory array under nominal bias conditions, an elevated bias voltage is applied to the memory array, for example to its power supply node. Under the elevated bias voltage, alternating data patterns are written into and read from the memory array for a selected duration. The elevated bias voltage is reduced, and a write screen is performed to identify defective memory cells. The dynamic stress of the repeated writes and reads accelerates early life failures, facilitating the write screen.
Abstract:
A process for recovering waste latex material from a manufacturing plant, treating the recovered waste latex material, and subsequently utilizing the recovered and treated waste latex material in a manufacturing plant. Waste latex material is recovered and treated to provide a fine, sand-like material that is suitable for reintroduction into a latex adhesive manufacturing process.
Abstract:
A virtual drive data storage refactoring system includes a base drive, a plurality of virtual drives coupled to the base drive and hierachly below the base drive, wherein the virtual drives each include a plurality of data storage blocks and a virtual drive controller system. The virtual drive controller system is operable to coordinate data storage on the base drive and the plurality of virtual drives. The virtual drive controller system is operable to compute a signature for each data storage block, create a list of data content for each data storage block, wherein the list is sorted according to the signature for each data storage block, locate the signatures for each data storage block that appear on each of the virtual drives, arrange the data storage blocks on the virtual drives so that data storage blocks having data content that is the same, are located in corresponding locations on each of the virtual drives, and remove the data storage blocks having data content that is the same from each of the virtual drives to a data storage drive that is hierarchly above the virtual drives.
Abstract:
A light shelf assembly includes a light shelf with pins extending laterally outward from a lateral edge, and a mounting bracket for attachment to a building structure adjacent to a window. The mounting bracket has a first track segment for initial insertion of the pins into the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket also includes a second track segment enabling one of the pin to slide between a first position in which the light shelf is held in a substantially horizontal position, and a second position in which the light shelf pivots downward.
Abstract:
The application discloses devices, delivery tools, systems, and methods for treating biliary disease. Device comprise, for example, a component configured for deployment between a gallbladder and location within a gastrointestinal tract of a patient which has a proximal end and a distal end with a lumen extending therethrough. A method of deploying the device can be achieved by, for example, creating a duct or fistula between a gallbladder lumen and a portion of a gastrointestinal tract; and providing for drainage from the gallbladder to the gastrointestinal tract.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to controlling the mass flow of toner in an image forming device or a toner cartridge. The toner composition includes extra particulate additives including a conductive additive. The extra particulate additives may also include relatively small silica particles or relatively large silica.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing an information handling system is disclosed wherein the method includes receiving an order for an information handling system (IHS), wherein the IHS comprises at least one virtual machine (VM) and determining a number of physical systems and an amount of storage required for the IHS. The method may also include providing the number of physical systems and the amount of storage and providing virtualization software for the number of physical systems, wherein the virtualization software is utilized to create the at least one virtual machine. The method further includes pre-configuring a plurality of parameters for the at least one VM.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for indicating deformation of a vehicle body when the vehicle body has reference points and a normal position thereof. The apparatus and method comprising the use of at least one target positioned at a predetermined location relative to the reference point on the vehicle body. The target is adapted to provide information indicating the position of the target relative to said normal position thereof when a laser scanner sweeps a laser beam across the target to activate the target and provide target location information. A computer is provided for receiving the target location information and calculating the position of the target relative to normal position. The laser source of the laser scanner is a Diode Pumped Solid State (DPSS) laser to provide stable beam output and prevent beam drift to prove a more accurate measurement.
Abstract:
A method and system for determining whether a first one of a plurality of labels on a roll of label stock is a full label. The method includes sensing a leading edge of the roll of label stock, sensing a location of a first one of a plurality of indicator marks that are printed on the back side of the roll of label stock, sensing a location of a second one of the plurality of indicator marks, sensing a location of one of a plurality of top of form marks that are printed on the back side of the roll of label stock. The method further includes determining whether the first one of the plurality of labels is a full label based on the leading edge of the roll of label stock, the location of the first one of the plurality of indicator marks, the location of the second one of the plurality of indicator marks, and the location of the one of the plurality of top of form marks.
