Abstract:
An improved gas separation PSA process, more particularly for oxygen production, utilizing adsorbents of Type X characterized by high frequency (i.e., cycle times of less than 4 s), bed length to square of mean particle diameter ratio within 200 to 600 mm−1, bed size factor of less than 50 lb/TPDO. The bed length, mean particle size, and cycle time are selected in a range such that axial dispersion becomes an important factor. In this way, low product recovery and high pressure drop (high power consumption) disadvantages often associated with the use of small particles are overcome.
Abstract:
A process for carrying out cryogenic air separation wherein liquid oxygen is pressurized and vaporized against condensing feed air to produce oxygen gas product wherein excess plant refrigeration is generated such that the aggregate warm end temperature difference of the process exceeds the minimum internal temperature difference of the primary heat exchanger by at least 2K.

Abstract:
A measuring system that relate to the measurement of relatively small one degree of freedom mechanisms, such as pivoting and rotary switches, is disclosed. In particular end effectors and a kit for assembling various end effector assemblies is disclosed, that allow for accurate measurement of torque versus angular displacement curves for various types of pivoting and rotary switches.
Abstract:
A method may be employed to assure that a switch measurement system accurately measures a torque/angular displacement profile for a rotary switch. A procedure may be employed that aligns the rotational axis of the switch with the rotational axis of the measurement unit of the switch measurement system. Also a procedure may be employed that monitors secondary forces to assure that proper alignment and calibration has been achieved.
Abstract:
The storage system includes a housing which is fittable into a bed of a pickup truck or utility vehicle, wherein the top member of the housing extends forwardly beyond the bottom member. Two pullout drawers are arranged side-by-side within the housing and extend so that a front surface thereof is substantially flush with the forward edge of the top member. The exposed surfaces of the housing have a protective polyurethane coating, providing protection against extreme weather. Connecting members extend from the sides of the housing to the sides of the pickup truck bed or utility vehicle.
Abstract:
A cryogenic air separation system for producing elevated pressure nitrogen wherein a portion of the nitrogen product fed to the product compressor downstream of the primary heat exchanger is withdrawn as refrigerant nitrogen from the product compressor, preferably from an intermediate point of the product compressor, and turboexpanded to generate refrigeration for the system.
Abstract:
A security tag used with an electronic article surveillance system for detecting the presence of the tag within a surveilled area utilizing electromagnetic energy at a frequency within a predetermined detection frequency range includes a dielectric substrate having first and second opposing principle surfaces, a peripheral outer edge, and a resonant circuit capable of resonating at a frequency within the predetermined detection frequency range. The security tag also includes a guard member, in one embodiment a discontinuous conductive member, effectively electrically isolated from the resonant circuit, extending along at least a portion of the peripheral outer edge of the substrate for surrounding at least a portion of the resonant circuit. The guard member electrically isolates the resonant circuit to facilitate testing of the resonant circuit during an early stage of the manufacturing process when the resonant circuit is in web form.
Abstract:
The subject of the present invention is a haptic gear shifter and a method of controlling a haptic gear shifter for use in a vehicle or a vehicle simulator. A method is disclosed for establishing gear shifter characteristics, for calibrating a haptic gear shifter, and for operating the haptic gear shifter.
