Abstract: A liquid fuel synthesis system includes a liquid fuel synthesis portion and a sweep gas supply unit. The liquid fuel synthesis portion is partitioned into a non-permeation side space and a permeation side space by the separation membrane. A temperature of the sweep gas flowing into the permeation side space is higher than at least one of a temperature of the raw material gas flowing into the non-permeation side space and a temperature of a first outflow gas flowing out of the non-permeation side space. A temperature of a second outflow gas flowing out of the permeation side space is higher than at least one of the temperature of the raw material gas flowing into the non-permeation side space and the temperature of the first outflow gas flowing out of the non-permeation side space.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a process for controlling syngas composition from an internal combustion engine-based syngas generator. While air is typically used as an oxidant, with nitrogen (N2) as a diluent, this results in expensive downstream compression, and low feedstock conversion efficiencies. This disclosure provides CO2 as a diluent to reduce N2 concentration in the syngas. In some embodiments, the CO2 diluent may be from either a biogas processing coupled with methanol, DME, and/or hydrocarbon production; or natural gas processing coupled with Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis and/or other hydrocarbon synthesis.

Abstract: Hydrogen purification devices and their components are disclosed. In some embodiments, the devices may include at least one foil-microscreen assembly disposed between and secured to first and second end frames. The at least one foil-microscreen assembly may include at least one hydrogen-selective membrane and at least one microscreen structure including a non-porous planar sheet having a plurality of apertures forming a plurality of fluid passages. The planar sheet may include generally opposed planar surfaces configured to provide support to the permeate side. The plurality of fluid passages may extend between the opposed surfaces. The at least one hydrogen-selective membrane may be metallurgically bonded to the at least one microscreen structure.

Abstract: Processes for producing a hydrogen-enriched gas stream are described. A hydrocarbon containing feed is processed in a hydrogen production process unit, and the synthesis gas formed is subjected to a water gas shift reaction. The shifted synthesis gas is sent for processing to recover hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The hydrogen and carbon dioxide recovery processes involve separating a purified hydrogen product stream and a purified carbon dioxide stream from the shifted synthesis stream and recycling synthesis gas to the reforming feed after recovery of CO2 and H2, thereby avoiding carbon slip from the process and lowering the overall carbon intensity.

Abstract: A process is provided for forming a fuel or a fuel intermediate from two fermentations that includes feeding an aqueous solution comprising a fermentation product from a first bioreactor to a second bioreactor and/or a stage upstream of the second bioreactor, which also produces the fermentation product. The aqueous solution may be added at any stage of the second fermentation and/or processing steps upstream from the second bioreactor that would otherwise require the addition of water. Accordingly, the product yield is increased while fresh/treated water usage is decreased.
