摘要： In order to solve one or more problems encountered in the grouping of print jobs spanning a plurality of servers, a control apparatus within a print processing system includes: a designation unit for designating a plurality of print jobs; a generation unit for acquiring the plurality of print jobs from an applicable server, and generating a combined print job that includes the plurality of print jobs; and a setting unit which, when an error has occurred in the acquisition of the plurality of print jobs, is for setting whether to exercise control so as to execute processing of all of the plurality of print jobs after recovery from the error is achieved, or so as to execute processing of print jobs with the exception of the print job in which the error occurred.

摘要： Even when an error has occurred in a device that is executing an activity, the workflow is continued as much as possible. When an error has occurred in an activity that is in progress in a device X, a server notifies the device X of an alternative device. The name of the alternative device (device Y) is displayed on the device X. The operator can send a job catalog request from the device Y to the server and select an aborted job from the provided job catalog. The server is notified of the selected job. When password authentication has succeeded, the device Y is permitted to continue the activity.

The data processing apparatus has the capability of detecting an error in the LAN when the apparatus is connected to the LAN. This allows the data processing apparatus to operate correctly without problems that might otherwise occur due to the error in the LAN. The data processing apparatus also has the capability of operating in an adequate process mode corresponding to a process command contained in a received packet. This allows effective use of the data processing apparatus.

摘要： A server printing system registers the status of a print job issued to the printer in a management table of the printer. When there is a request from an application to cancel the print job, and the job to be cancelled is not registered in the job queue, the job is set to be deleted later from the server printing system management table. When the server printing system receives notification of a job generation event from the printer, the server printing system ascertains whether or not the job included in the event is set to be cancelled and, if so, cancels the print job.

摘要： A communication apparatus receives the identification information of a partner station, and performs a communication operation in accordance with the received identification information. A first detecting unit detects a calling signal. An identification information receiving unit detects the identification information of a calling party upon detection of the calling signal, and a second detecting unit detects whether or not the terminal of the calling party is a data communication terminal. A registration unit registers the identification information of the partner station in a memory, so that whether the partner station is a speech or data communication terminal can be discriminated later. A control unit checks if the identification information receiving unit receives the identification information of the calling party. When the identification information of the calling party is received, the control unit checks if the-received identification information is registered in the memory, and selectively executes a speech communication process and a data communication process in accordance with the checking result and the detection result of the second detecting unit.
