Abstract:
An image printing apparatus including a communication interface, a printer, a user interface including an operation panel, a controller configured to control the printer and the user interface is provided. The controller is configured to receive preliminary data sent from an information processing apparatus through the communication interface; control the printer to perform a warm-up action; receive job data including image data through the communication interface; control the user interface to perform a receipt-notification and control the printer to start printing based on the image data; during a period from the receipt of the preliminary data until start of receiving the job data, withhold from accepting a cancellation command sent in response to user entering a cancellation operation; and after the start of receiving the job data, accept the cancellation command and cancel printing of the image based on the job data associated with to the entered cancellation command.
Abstract:
A printer includes a first receiver, a second receiver, a specifying unit, and a printing unit. The first receiver receives, from any of at least one print instruction information holding device that holds print instruction information giving instructions to print, specific print instruction information associated with a first identifier and instructing the printer to print. The second receiver receives, from a print settings information holding device that holds print settings information indicating settings for printing, specific print settings information associated with a second identifier and indicating settings for printing by the printer. The specifying unit, on the basis of the first identifier and the second identifier, specifies the specific print settings information as print settings information corresponding to the specific print instruction information. The printing unit uses the specific print settings information to conduct printing based on the specific print instruction information.

Abstract:
An information processing device includes a first communication interface, a second communication interface, a detecting unit, and a controller. The detecting unit detects a notification received by the first communication interface. In a case where the detecting unit detects a notification transmitted from the second communication interface to a communication medium connected to the second communication interface and indicating that a device serving as a transmission source has been connected to the communication medium, the controller performs control so that communication is not performed by at least one of the first communication interface and the second communication interface.
Abstract:
A printer (100) for printing based on a print job signal sent from a data processing device (200) registers print job signal sending sources and a message corresponding to each sending source in memory (111, 112). A controller (113) detects whether the sending source of a received print job signal is registered in memory. If the sending source is registered, a messaging unit (110, 111) outputs a corresponding message. Sending sources that are permitted to print can also be registered in memory (111, 112). In this case, the controller (113) detects whether the sending source of a received print job signal is registered in memory, and instructs the printer (110) to print only when the sending source is registered as permitted to print.
Abstract:
An image forming device is provided with an external storage, a printing unit, a storage controlling unit configured to store the image data in the external storage or an internal storage. The storage controlling device stores the image data developed from the print data retrieved from the print data stored in the external in the external storage, while stores the image data developed from the print data transmitted from the external device in the internal storage. At least file names of image data stored in the external storage on the displaying unit are displayed for selection when the external storage is connected to the image forming device, and file names of image data stored in the internal storage are displayed when the external storage is not connected to the image forming device. A reprinting unit performs a reprinting operation based on the selected image data.
Abstract:
An image forming device for connection to first and second external devices, including a control unit having an alternate operation mode for performing alternating communication with external devices by switching communication at a predetermined cycle. During communication with one of such external devices, the control unit enables reception of commands and/or a print-start signal from that external device and refuses reception of commands and a print-start signal from another external device. When communication is changed over from one external device to another external device, the control unit provides an interval in which reception of commands and a print-start signal from both external devices is refused for a predetermined period of time.
Abstract:
When data is received from a host computer A, a printing apparatus stores the received data in a reception buffer that has been segmented into memory blocks of a prescribed size. When one memory block is filled to capacity with the data received from host computer A, the printing apparatus determines whether there is a print request from another host computer. If there is a print request from a host computer other than host computer A, reception of the printing data accompanying this request is started and the data is stored in an unused memory block of the reception buffer. When this memory block is filled to capacity, reception of data from the host A is resumed. Thus, the printing apparatus receives data from a plurality of host computers concurrently and prints out data the reception of which has ended. By virtue of this arrangement, the printing apparatus is capable of deciding the order of printout based not only upon the order in which print requests occur but also upon the size of the data from each host computer.
Abstract:
Printing equipment for processing relevant print requests from a plurality of host devices in parallel and its printing control method. A plurality of logical printers are provided in one unit of physically existing printing apparatus and one logical printer is allotted to each one of host devices so that processing of the print data from a plurality of host devices can be carried out in parallel. One virtual host interface exists for each logical printer and this host interface establishes session with the corresponding host device to transfer data. Each logical printer independently takes charge of emulation, respectively. Operating a plurality of logical printers in one unit of printing apparatus realizes multi-session and multi-emulation.
