Abstract:
The present invention improves probability of success in connection by enabling effective re-calling even for such a partner apparatus, exchanger, or network that takes a long time in releasing processing when a connection protocol fails at calling in G4, the line is disconnected and re-calling is performed in G3 (fall-back). A fall-back wait timer is provided for waiting for a predetermined time before re-calling is performed by the fall-back function. With this, at the time of fall-back, next communication can be activated in a sufficient time. Therefore, effective re-calling is possible even for such a partner apparatus, exchanger, or network that takes a long time in releasing processing, whereby the probability of success in connection is improved.
Abstract:
Heretofore, depending on a network (switching device) to be used, call releasing has not been normally finished since a time until data link releasing took a value intrinsic to the device. According to the present invention, the counting of a predetermined time is started depending on determination as to the execution of call releasing. Then, depending on the passage of a predetermined time, the process of releasing a data link is started.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus capable of efficiently using a removable medium when the removable medium is used instead of a memory provided in the image processing apparatus. The apparatus includes a RAM for storing image data, a removable medium I/F to which the removable medium is coupled, and a CPU. The CPU confirms the remaining capacity of the RAM and determines based on the remaining capacity confirmed during execution of a job and a job operation mode whether the job can be continued by using only the RAM. When it is determined that the job cannot be continued, image data to be saved is selected according to a predetermined priority order, and the selected image data is saved from the RAM onto the removable medium.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus has a large number of image processing functions, in which resources necessary for code processing units can be suppressed while a large-scale decline in performance is prevented. The apparatus includes code processing units for executing coding and decoding of image data, and request-source task units (print function, scanner function and FAX transceive function), which request any one of the code converters to perform code conversion of image data. The number of request-source task units is greater than the number of code converters and a degree of priority has been set for each one. A determination unit always assigns the code converting units to processing requests from request-source task units having a high priority and, if there is an idle code converting unit, assigns the code converting unit to a processing request from a request-source task unit having a low priority.
Abstract:
A data communication apparatus that reduces erroneous transmission, together with allowing an operator to confirm destinations registered as data transmission destinations. To accomplish this, the data communication apparatus includes a destination registering unit adapted to register at least one or more destinations, a data acquisition unit adapted to acquire data to transmit to the registered destinations, a destination list print unit adapted to print a destination list showing the registered destinations to allow an operator to confirm the registered destinations, an operation acquisition unit adapted to acquire, via an operation unit, a first operation operated by the operator if the destinations shown on the destination list are confirmed by the operator, and a transmission unit adapted to transmit, if the first operation is acquired, the acquired data to the destinations shown on the destination list.
Abstract:
Memory interface means which can be easily removed by a user is included, use of a generally-available general-purpose memory is made possible and increase of the capacity of a memory which can be used by an image forming apparatus, image electronic data stored in a memory in the image forming apparatus, management information for managing the image electronic data, management information in the apparatus such as a telephone book used by facsimile means are can be bidirectionally copied or moved with the external memory in accordance with the user's operation or automatically.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image processing apparatus that can make effective use of a memory area. To accomplish this, the image processing apparatus comprises storage means having a first management record storage area for storing a first management record used for management of image data and a second management record storage area for storing a second management record linked with the first management record, and acquisition means for acquiring an area for storing the first management record and the second management record in the storage means, the apparatus managing the image data using the first management record and the second management record in the storage means, the apparatus managing the image data using the first management record and the second management record, wherein the acquisition means acquires a storing area for storing the first management record in the second management record storage area, when the storing area for storing the first management record is not acquired in the first management record storage area.
Abstract:
This invention efficiently implements encoding processes corresponding to respective image processing functions while minimizing the memory use size in the apparatus in an image processing apparatus having many image processing functions. A data processing apparatus of this invention includes a data reception unit for receiving at least data of a first format for respective pages, a data conversion unit for converting the data of the first format into data of a second format, a page data management unit for managing the data of the first and second formats in first and second page data in association with each other, and a control unit for monitoring a storage state of the data of the first format in the memory, and permitting a predetermined process for the data of the first format in accordance with the storage state. When the control unit determines that storage of the data of the first format in the memory is complete, the control unit permits the data conversion unit to start a data conversion operation from the first format to the second format. Also, the control unit monitors completion of the conversion operation of the data conversion unit and a storage state of the data of the second format in the memory, and permits a predetermined process for the data of the second format in accordance with the storage state.
Abstract:
Provided is an image processing system which reduces the load of destination registration on the user. To accomplish this, in an image processing system including a PC (102) and device (101) connected to a network, the PC (102) has a transfer unit (120) which transfers identification data of the PC (102) to the device (101), and the device (101) has a scanner unit (130) which scans an image and outputs the image data, a memory (140) which stores a destination of the output image data from the scanner unit (130), a transfer unit (150) which transfers the image data to the destination stored in the memory (140), and a registration unit (170) which receives the identification data transferred by the transfer unit (120), and registers the received identification data as a destination of image data in the memory (140).
Abstract:
