A card ejector for a PC card connector, includes an ejector button (1) movable between a retreated position and an advanced position where a PC card is ejected from the PC card connector; an ejector bar (2) for guiding the ejector button (1) by a predetermined distance between the retreated position and the advanced position; a spring member (10) provided between the ejector button (1) and the ejector bar (2) to bias the ejector button (1) to the retreated position where the ejector button (1) is rotatable by a predetermined angle with respect to the ejector bar (2).
Abstract:
A metal panel (11) for covering a PC card has an accommodating opening (18) for exposing the ground connection section (21) of a socket connector (2). A projected edge (7B) is provided on the frame holder (4) and a liner projection (32) is formed on the socket connector (2). The projected edge (7B) is located to fill in and close gaps between the ground connection section (21) and edges of the accommodation opening (18). In other embodiments, a C-shaped projection (32) on the socket (30) is used as the sole means to close or fill in the gap.

A metal panel (4) is provided to cover the entire PC card (P). The ground plate (10) has an attaching portion and outer and inner terminals (11) and (12) extending rearwardly from the attaching portion. The attaching portion is attached to the attaching means of the housing (6). The outer and inner terminals (11) and (12) contact the inner face of the panel (4) and the ground circuit (3B) of an inner board (3), respectively.

The IC card electrical connector includes an ejector button (10), a spring member (11) for biasing the ejector button forwardly, an engaging member (12) pivoted to the ejector button and engaging with the housing to hold the ejector button in place, and a cam mechanism. The cam mechanism includes a cam section (9) having a first cam face (9A) and a second cam face (9B) and an intermediate member (6) having a cam follower (6B). When the engaging member is released to allow forward movement of the ejector button, the intermediate member is biased into a space between the ejector button and the eject bar. The cam follower is provided on a resilient arm (6A) so that it moves on the first cam face whereas when an IC card is inserted to move the eject bar forwardly, it slides on the second cam face to escape from the space.

An electrical connector has a plurality of sheet-type terminals (20 and 30) which are received into corresponding receiving slots (11 and 12) of a housing (10) and are arranged parallel each other in a direction. The terminals (20, 30) have connection sections (23 and 33) at their ends, which are arranged so as to face the same side and protrude outward from a bottom surface of the housing. The movable member (40), which presses a flat cable (C) toward contact sections (26, 36), is movably supported at an open mouth of the housing (10). The connection sections (23 and 33) have connection surfaces (23A and 33A) for contact with circuit sections of a circuit board, which are staggered in a receiving direction of the terminals to the housing.
