Abstract: A paper feeder for a printer having a platen and a tractor feeder which is provided with a pin belt having pins projecting from upper and lower surface of the tractor feeder, and the tractor feeder can be selectively placed either one of a first position in which the paper feeding plane of the paper feeding pins of the lower surface of the tractor feeder aligns with a tangential direction of a lower part of the platen and a second position in which the paper feeding plane of the paper feeding pins of the upper surface is aligned with a tangential direction of an upper part of the platen. Preferably, the tractor feeder can be held at a third position which is intermediate between the first and the second position and a middle plane between the upper and the lower paper feeding plane align with a radial line of the platen. Thus, depending on the position of the tractor feeder, the printing paper can be pulled from the platen, pushed toward the platen or pushed and pulled towards and away from the platen as desired.

Abstract: A control rod includes a tie-rod, a handle mounted to an upper end portion of the tie-rod, either a connector plate or a fall velocity limiter mounted to a lower end portion of the tie-rod, sheaths having a U-shaped cross-section, welded intermittently to the tie-rod at a plurality of locations in the axial direction of the tie-rod, and having an upper end welded to the handle and a lower end welded to either the connector plate or the fall velocity limiter, and a neutron absorbing member disposed inside each of the sheaths. An upper end of a weld portion located at uppermost position in an axial direction of the tie-rod among a plurality of weld portions between the tie-rod and the sheath is disposed at a position within a range between 0.8 and 13% of total axial length Ls of the sheath below an upper end of the sheath.

Abstract: In a vehicle seat, a central support member typically consisting of wire mesh or grid and supports most of the load of the vehicle occupant via spring members, and undergoes a relatively large displacement when the occupant is seated in the seat. Thus, by detecting the displacements of various parts of the central support member, preferably peripheral parts thereof, the magnitude of the total load and distribution of the load can be evaluated both reliably and accurately. Additionally, displacement sensors for measuring such large displacements are relatively inexpensive and easy to handle. Also, such sensors would not interfere with the existing seat designs, and would not be adversely affected by the equipment of the seat such as seat heaters.

Abstract: A paper feeder for a printer which is adapted for feeding both continuous printing paper and cut sheet printing paper. A second frame which may carry the platen supports the rear end of a first frame which in turn supports the tractor feeder in such a manner that the first frame can be rotated backward from a first position adapted for feeding continuous paper to a second position adapted for making a room for mounting a paper guide to the printer. If the tractor feeder is adapted for pushing continuous paper towards the platen, continuous paper can be kept on the tractor feeder even when the second frame is at its second position.
