摘要: A mounted object detection device includes: a load sensor in which a plurality of sensor parts each configured to detect a load are disposed in a matrix shape; and a controller configured to detect a situation of a mounted object on the load sensor on the basis of an output from the load sensor. The controller: detects a load distribution on a detection region of the load sensor on the basis of an output from the load sensor; discerns which of a person or animal and a thing the mounted object is, on the basis of the load distribution; and when having discerned that the mounted object is a thing, discerns whether or not a person or an animal is mounted on the thing, on the basis of temporal change in the load distribution.

The system (10) comprises an occupant monitoring system (12) configured for providing a mass value corresponding to a mass of the head (42) of an occupant (40) of the vehicle (50); an airbag pressure sensor (14) configured for providing a pressure value corresponding to a gas pressure within the airbag (52) of the vehicle (50); an airbag contact sensor (16) configured for providing a contact area value corresponding to a contact area at which the head (42) of the occupant (40) of the vehicle (50) contacts the airbag (52) of the vehicle (50); and a processing unit (18) configured for providing an acceleration value corresponding to an acceleration of the head (42) of the occupant (40) of the vehicle (50) based on the mass value, the pressure value and the contact area value. The invention further refers to an airbag system and a vehicle comprising such an occupant monitoring system and to a corresponding method of generating an acceleration value corresponding to an acceleration of the head (42) of an occupant (40) of a vehicle (50) in a crash situation.

摘要: A vehicle seat restraint system includes a vehicle seat of a vehicle. The vehicle seat includes a leg-rest supporting lower legs and feet of an occupant of the vehicle seat. An in-vehicle occupant detection system identifies positions of the lower legs and the feet of the occupant. A restraint actuator is connected to the vehicle seat. A safety restraint element is extended by actuation of the restraint actuator from a stowed position proximate to the leg-rest into an engaged position wherein the safety restraint element contacts and restrains the lower legs and the feet of the occupant against the leg-rest, mitigating against occupant knee hyperextension due to leg straightening at an occupant knee joint.

摘要: Disclosed is a seat including: sensors which includes a first cushion sensor provided at a seat cushion in a position corresponding to buttocks of an occupant, a second cushion sensor provided at the seat cushion and located farther frontward than the first cushion sensor, a first back sensor provided at a seat back and located in a lower position thereof, and a second back sensor provided at the seat back and located above the first back sensor; and a controller connected to the sensors and thereby allowed to acquire pressure values from the respective sensors. The controller is configured to identify the motion of the occupant based on outputs of at least two sensors of the first cushion sensor, the second cushion sensor, the first back sensor, and the second back sensor.

摘要: An occupant determination apparatus includes a weight sensor configured to detect a weight on a seat in a vehicle, a lateral acceleration sensor configured to detect lateral acceleration being acceleration in a width direction of the vehicle and having a positive or negative sign based on the width direction, a processing unit, and a storage unit configured to store a lateral acceleration threshold and a table in which an occupant region for use in the occupant determination is set. The lateral acceleration threshold indicates whether occupant determination for an occupant on the seat is to be conducted and has a positive or negative sign. The table is based on the weight and the lateral acceleration. The processing unit is configured to conduct the occupant determination on the basis of the weight, the lateral acceleration, and the table when the lateral acceleration is higher than the lateral acceleration threshold.

The electronic processor is configured to receive vehicle data from the sensor. The electronic processor is also configured to determine a child presence indication of whether a child is present in the vehicle based on the vehicle data. The electronic processor is also configured to determine a state of a windshield of the vehicle based on the vehicle data. The electronic processor is also configured to generate an emergency message including the child presence indication and the state of a windshield of the vehicle. The electronic processor is also configured to automatically transmit the emergency message to an emergency responder.
