    摘要： The apparatus includes means for providing an article having a sheet of wrapping material draped therearound so that the ends of the sheet project outwardly from one side and along opposing edges of the article. The draped article is moved along a path past a folding work station. The folding work station includes means for folding one of the projecting ends of the sheet underneath the other projecting end in an overlapped relationship on one side of the article. The wrapping material is then sealed along the overlapped ends of the wrapper sheet. The specific embodiments include a particular lifting mechanism used at the folding work station. When heat-sealable wrapping material is used, a heating assembly is disposed at a heat sealing work station. A flat turret chain incorporating a plurality of pockets for receiving the packages to be wrapped is used to move the draped articles along the path.

    摘要： An assembly for tucking and folding a wrapper extension section which projects outwardly from the edge along at least two contiguous sides of an article. The assembly includes a tucker blade means located along a path of travel for the article to form a tuck portion in the extension section along at least a first edge of the article. A straight edge section disposed on the tucker blade member is used to hold the tuck portion against the side of the article as it moves along the path. A first folder member located along the path is used to crease an overfold portion of the extension section along a second edge the article and over the tuck portion. The straight edge section is effective to prevent the tuck portion from changing position beneath the overfold portion. A straight edge section is disposed at a height along the path to be contiguous to the second edge of the article along which the overfold portion is being bent. An inclined edge acts to crease the overfold portion along the second edge of the article while the straight edge section performs its function. The assembly may be used in combination with any packaging machine to effect the desired results.
