Abstract: Communications to be shared on social networks and other electronic modes of communication are presented in comic strip form. The comic strips are created with a simplified user interface and are formatted to be well-suited for display on a selected social network or other electronic facility. The comic strips are displayed in an embedded form directly in the social network or other facility, without the need for a user to go to a separate site to view the comic strip.

Abstract: Methods and devices for reducing power consumption in a multi-processor computing device include filtering indications from the second processor intended for the first processor while the first processor is in a low power state, so that only selected, such as significant, indications are transmitted. The second processor may be informed when the first processor is in a low power state. Indications generated by the second processor may be compared to indication filtering criteria to determine whether each should be transmitted to the first processor. Those indications satisfying the indication filtering criteria may be sent to the first processor, causing it to return to a normal power state. In mobile computing device the first processor may be an applications processor and the second processor may be a modem. Filtering of indications may be accomplished in the second processor or in a power controller in some implementations.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for cloud optimization using workload analysis are provided in the illustrative embodiments. An architecture of a workload received for execution in a cloud computing environment is identified. The cloud computing environment includes a set of cloud computing resources. A section of the workload is identified and marked for static analysis. Static analysis is performed on the section to determine a characteristic of the workload. A subset of the set of cloud computing resources is selected such that a cloud competing resource in the subset is available for allocating to the workload and has a characteristic that matches the characteristic of the workload as determined from the static analysis. The subset of cloud computing resources is suggested to a job scheduler for scheduling the workload for execution.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for presenting supplemental search results having indications that identified documents have been endorsed by the user and/or social network connections of the user are provided. A search query is received and it is determined that the user's social networking data is available. Documents that have been endorsed by the user and/or social network connections of the user are searched to identify those that satisfy the input search query. The satisfying documents are assigned a relevance score to determine whether each satisfying document is relevant enough to be shown and to determine placement of the document on the SERP relative to standard search results. Upon rendering of the SERP, a supplemental search result identifying documents that were endorsed by the user and/or social network connections of the user is presented, as is an indication about which social network connection(s) of the user endorsed the document.

Abstract: Methods to provide workload performance control are described herein. Performance statistics for a plurality of workloads are obtained for a second time interval, which includes a plurality of first time intervals. The performance statistics is based on monitored data (220) obtained at each of the plurality of first time intervals. From the plurality of workloads, at least one workload having an anomaly in resource allocation is identified using the performance statistics. Resources, to at least mitigate the anomaly are associated with the at least one workload.

Abstract: The host interface module is configured to receive a plurality of I/O request which includes an associated priority; create an I/O request queue for each associated priority; define a threshold value for the queue length for each of the plurality of I/O request queues; and determine if the queue length for one of the plurality of the I/O request queue corresponding to the associated priority is less than the defined threshold value for the queue length for the one of the plurality of the I/O request queues. If the queue length of the one of the plurality of I/O request queues is more than the defined threshold value for the queue then the host interface module is further configured to rejecting the I/O request and sending a queue full message; wherein the threshold value for the queue length is based on the processing rate of the I/O requests in the plurality of the I/O request queues.
