摘要： The invention is a blade fuse having a housing section and a fusible element. The housing includes an insulating portion or tab extending from the housing section, and disposed between opposite ends of the fusible element. One aspect of the invention is a blade fuse where the insulating tab is integral with the housing. The insulating tab may be integral with the head portion of the housing, and the insulating tab may extend downwardly from the head portion. In yet another embodiment, the invention is directed to a one-piece, metallic element for a blade fuse. The blade fuse element has a fusible link and a pair of terminals. The fusible element extends above, rather than between, the terminals.

摘要： A female fuse assembly includes a female fuse and a housing. The female fuse includes a first and a second female terminal portion each having a face portion which includes a first end, a second end, a first side, and a second side, includes a first clamping arm and a second clamping arm, includes a first bracing arm and a second bracing arm, and includes a fuse link having a first terminal extension and a second terminal extension, and having a skived region for controlling the resistance between the first and second female terminal portions. The fuse link further includes a first terminal bend and a second terminal bend. The first terminal bend is positioned substantially toward the second end of the first face portion, or vice versa, and the second terminal bend is positioned substantially toward the first end of the second face portion, or vice versa, for increasing the length of the fuse link. The connection between the first female terminal portion and the first terminal extension of the fuse link is positioned toward one end of the first face portion. Similarly, the connection between the second female terminal portion and the second terminal extension of the fuse link is positioned toward one end of the second face portion.

摘要： A fuse for handling normal load currents substantially in excess of about 80 amps, the fuse comprising a metal portion formed of an integral piece of metal having outermost, spaced terminal-forming portions with bolt-anchoring holes therein and a fuse link-forming intermediate portion between the terminal-forming portions. The terminal-forming portions of the metal piece has a rectangular configuration having inner margins spaced from one another. The fuse link-forming portion of the metal piece has an S-shape with one face thereof being co-planar with one of the faces of the terminal-forming portions thereof. The thickness of the S-shaped fuse link is only a fraction of the thickness of the terminal thickness and has outermost legs respectively extending from the opposite sides of the innermost margins of the terminal-forming portions of the metal piece and a central link interconnecting the outermost legs. The central leg has two pairs of spaced notches between which a tin pellet is anchored in an aperture to reduce the melting temperature of the fuse link so that prolonged overload currents will open the fuse link.

摘要： A shield for an electrical fuse, including an inner enclosure for housing the electrical fuse and a pair of outwardly flaring end portions extending from the opposite ends of the enclosure. The shield includes walls separating the inner enclosure from each of the outwardly flaring end portions, and a slot in the walls for the extension through that slot of at least a terminal portion of the electrical fuse. The shield may be made of a pair of identical housing pieces with mating tongue and groove elements disposed substantially along the peripheries of those pieces. Preferably, the tongue element of the housing pieces is disposed on the opposite side as the groove element of the housing piece. Each of the outwardly flaring ends, or alternatively the walls, may cooperatively form a seal to aid in preventing entry of moisture or dirt into the shield. A sealing portion that aids in forming the seal may comprise a resilient, compressible grommet. The outwardly flaring end portions include a pair of snap-locking elements for securing a separate, connecting section to the outwardly flaring end portions.

摘要： The invention is a housing for a blade fuse, and a blade fuse that uses that housing. The housing includes a first generally planar wall and a second generally planar wall. The first and the second generally planar walls each have an outer surface and an inner surface, and the inner surface of the first generally planar wall faces the inner surface of the second generally planar wall. Each of the generally planar walls has at least one rib extending from its inner surfaces. The one or more rib on the inner surface of the first generally planar wall extends towards, and is generally aligned with, the one or more corresponding rib on the inner surface of the second generally planar wall. These generally aligned rib sets form a gap, and the gap is sized so as to permit the close-fitting insertion of a fuse element between that gap.
