摘要: A storage container can maintain a temperature inside a storage room not to cause a temperature distribution for a certain time even if the operation is stopped. In a storage container 1 storing preserved goods and having an electrical cooling function, the storage container 1 includes a container body 10 and a door 20. A space enclosed by the container body 10 and the door 20 forms a storage room 100. The container body 10 and the door 20 have respectively heat insulating portions 12, 22 and heat accumulating portions 14, 24. The heat accumulating portions 14, 24 are each made of at least one type of material that causes liquid-solid phase transition at a temperature between a controllable temperature inside the storage room 100 and a living environmental temperature. A value obtained by dividing temperature conductivity of the material by an amount of the material used per unit area of a wall surface of the storage room 100 is smaller in the heat accumulating portions 14, 24 arranged near a first area where a temperature is more apt to come closer to the living environmental temperature under a temperature distribution that is formed inside the storage room 100 with changes over time after stop of cooling, than in the heat accumulating portions 14, 24 arranged near a second area where a temperature is less apt to come closer to the living environmental temperature thereunder.

摘要: The method of driving a liquid crystal display in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention is a method of driving a liquid crystal display whereby a first liquid crystal panels produces a display from a first display signal and the second liquid crystal panel produces a display a second display signal derived from the first display signal, the first and second liquid crystal panels being stacked on top of each other. The luminance of the first liquid crystal panel is extended based on the luminance extension ratio obtained from the gray levels for dots contained in the first display signal and a logical maximum gray level of input image data. The luminance of the second liquid crystal panel which produces a display from the second display signal is lowered by the amount by which luminance is extended on the first liquid crystal panel. A liquid crystal display with high display quality is realized by restraining decrease in saturation which would otherwise become obtrusive when two liquid crystal panels are stacked.

摘要: At least one of alignment films in the liquid crystal display device has a first alignment regulation region provided within each of a plurality of picture-element regions for aligning liquid crystal molecules of a liquid crystal layer approximately vertically, and a second alignment regulation region provided outside the plurality of picture-element regions for aligning the liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer in a single azimuth direction. When a voltage is applied to the first alignment regulation region having vertically aligned liquid crystal molecules, these vertically aligned liquid crystal molecules are tilted in the same direction as that of the liquid crystal molecules regulated by the alignment film of the second alignment regulation region. Thus, even in a turned-on state of the vertical alignment liquid crystal display device, uniform alignment is obtained across the entire display plane, so that high-quality display is realized.

摘要: The present invention has an object to eliminate viewing angle dependency in the upward, downward, and right- and left-hand directions, and compensate for optical retardation according to the viewing angle. The liquid crystal display device is provided with at least one optical retardation compensator plate inserted between a liquid crystal display element and polarizer plates. The liquid crystal display element is composed of a pair of electrode substrates and a liquid crystal layer sealed therebetween. The polarizer plates flank the liquid crystal display element. The optical retardation compensator plate has a negative refractive index anisotropy and an inclining refractive index ellipsoid. The liquid crystal layer is divided unequally into divisions having mutually different orientation directions, and the pretilt angle formed by the orientation films and the major axes of liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer is set within such a range that tone reversion does not occur in the opposite viewing direction when halftone is being displayed by applying to the liquid crystal a voltage that is close to the threshold voltage for the liquid crystal.
