Abstract:
A new and improved liner system for use in blast cabinets and the like in which parts are subjected to surface treatment wherein the linear assembly includes a universal liner panel in the form of a rectangular panel having structure for mounting the panel to the walls of a blast cabinet and one or more corner liner panels adapted to be mounted on the lateral walls of a blast cabinet in an overlapping relation with the universal liner panel.
Abstract:
This application discloses a blast machine which includes a turret movable in a vertical plane and rotatable in a horizontal plane. Mounted inside the turret are throwing wheels which are supplied from a source of surface-treating material. The turret is mounted in a wall of a blast chamber so that when a workpiece to be treated is inside the chamber the turret may be moved vertically and rotated horizontally to insure treatment of the entire surface of the workpiece. The workpiece may be mounted on a carriage and moved to different positions within the chamber. The application also discloses an automatic control system so that the motions of the turret and the carriage may be controlled by a program stored on a data storage medium.
Abstract:
A METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPLYING COOLANT TO AN OIL HOLE OR OIL TUBE OR CUTTING TOOL. THE METHOD COMPRISES THE STEPS OF SUPPLYING A LIQUID-AIR MIST COOLANT TO THE DRILL OR TOOL UNTIL IT PARTIALLY ENTERS A WORKPIECE AND THEREAFTER SUPPLYING LIQUID COOLANT, PREFERABLY UNDER PULSATING PRESSURE, TO THE DRILL UNTIL IT REACHES FULL HOLE DEPTH. THEREAFTER THE LIQUID-AIR MIST IS SUPPLIED TO THE DRILL WHILE IT WITHDRAWN FROM THE HOLE. THE APPARATUS OF THIS INVENTION ACCOMPLISHES THESE METHOD STEPS AUTOMATICALLY.
Abstract:
This invention is addressed to mechanical finishing and media therefor wherein the finishing media are formed of geometric shapes of bauxite particles which have been sintered at a temperature within the range of 2,900*-3,100* F.
Abstract:
A centrifugal blasting wheel in which the blades extending crosswise between the spaced parallel plates of the wheel are locked in the wheel by a locking member mounted for rotational movement about an axis parallel to the axis of the wheel and having a lobe which extends alongside the face of the plate including an arcuate portion which extends into a recess in the edge portion of the blade, when in one position of adjustment, and which is free of the blade, when in another position of adjustment.
Abstract:
A valve for regulating the flow of materials which are made up of a substantial portion of magnetic particles, the valve being characterized by improved flow rate control means. The valve includes an outer member and an assembly consisting of a permanent magnet and an electrical coil, this assembly providing a core member with a flow through passage being provided by spaces defined between the core member and the interior wall of the outer member. Means are provided for energizing the coil and for varying the input to the coil to vary the influence of the magnet on the particles and thereby regulate the flow of the material through the valve. The spaces defined between the pole pieces and the interior wall vary between minimum and maximum dimensions, and the energization of the electrical coil is controlled whereby the flow rate can be suitably maintained at desired levels and readily changed between different flow rates.
