Abstract: Technology for a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) operable to encode a primary synchronization signal for transmission to a user equipment (UE) is disclosed. The gNB can identify a sequence d(n) for a primary synchronization signal. The sequence d(n) can be defined by: d(5 n)=1.2s(n), where s(n) is a maximum run length sequence (msequence) and s(n) is provided as s(n+7)=(s(n +4)+s(n)) mod 2, where 0.n.127. The gNB can generate the primary synchronization signal based on the sequence d(n). The gNB can encode the primary synchronization signal for transmission to the UE.

Embodiments also include techniques to cause, via an interface, one or more attempts to access the target gNB utilizing at least one of the dedicated RACH resources and the common RACH resources.

Abstract: Apparatuses of wireless communication devices are disclosed. An apparatus of a user equipment includes one or more processors configured to start a first timer responsive to detection of a Radio Link (RL) failure, start a second timer and trigger a beam recovery procedure one or more times responsive to expiry of the first timer if RL recovery is not detected, and start a third timer and attempt to find a suitable cell for Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection reestablishment responsive to one or more expiries of the second timer if RL recovery fails. The one or more processors are also configured to go to an RRC idle or inactive state responsive to expiry of the third timer if a suitable cell for RRC connection reestablishment is not found.

Abstract: Systems and methods of selecting a PRACH resource opportunity are described. One of multiple Synchronization Signal Blocks (SSBs) is received. Each SSB has PSSs, SSSs and a PBCH that contain system information. A RACH occasion (RO) is selected from among multiple ROs associated with the SSB. A PRACH is transmitted on resources of the RO. The ROs are configured in a TDM and/or FDM manner. The RO is selected randomly or, if TDM is used, an earliest of the ROs from a UE-initiated RACH transmission in a previous period. A preamble of the RO is selected randomly with equal probability.

Abstract: Beamforming measurement techniques based on PSS/SSS are disclosed. An apparatus of a user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode a configuration message from a source serving cell, the configuration message indicating signal selection criteria for cell measurement reporting. A synchronization signal (SS) burst set associated with one or more transmission/reception points (TRPs) within a neighboring cell is decoded, the SS burst set including a plurality of SS blocks. A cell beamforming measurement signal associated with the neighboring cell is generated, based on signal measurements of the SS blocks and the signal selection criteria. A radio resource management (RRM) measurement report message is encoded for transmission to the serving cell, the measurement report message including the cell beamforming measurement signal. A handover command message for initiating a handover to the neighboring cell is decoded, the handover command based on the cell beamforming measurement signal.

Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for sidelink connection establishment design to support unicast and groupcast communication for NR V2X in a wireless communication system. The apparatuses and methods include at least generating an announcement of support for a unicast or a groupcast communication for a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) service, generating one or more connection establishment request messages for a secure link establishment to a second UE, to support a V2X communication to enable the V2X service, where the one or more connection establishment request message includes: a first connection establishment request message that is transmitted over a PC5-S interface, and a second connection establishment request message that is transmitted over a PC5-RRC interface. The apparatuses and methods further include at least processing a response message from the second UE that accepts or rejects the connection establishment request message for the secure link establishment.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided to indicate assistance information for radio access technologies to support interface selection for New Radio (NR) Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) processes. An upper layer entity exchanges information with lower layer entity while the upper layer can continue to use the existing interface for V2X transmission until it is not able to use the current interface. The upper layer can be a V2X layer and the lower layer can be an Access Stratum (AS) layer. The upper layer can request availability information from the lower layer for other applicable interfaces. The upper layer then instructs the lower layer to provide assistance information for one or more applicable interface(s), depending on whether mapped to the ongoing service. In providing availability information, the lower layer can continuously measure criteria, such as channel conditions, to determine the availability of relevant interfaces and indicate the availability information to the upper layer.

Abstract: A service device (e.g., a user equipment (UE), or other network component) can operate to generate sidelink communications with peer UE vehicle-to-vehicle devices based on PC5 channel to enable a peer-to-peer communication as part of PC5 vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. An admission control scheme or a congestion control scheme can be enabled by determining a configured mapping based on various criteria, including a priority of V2X services, V2X packet Quality of Service (QoS) indications per packet, or other criteria. A UE can determine whether a packet is authorized via the sidelink channel based on the configured mapping.
