    Abstract: A shoe includes a sole, an upper portion disposed above the sole and surrounding a foot insertion part, and a buffer including a lower surface and accommodated within the foot insertion part. The lower surface of the buffer includes a projection part projecting toward a facing surface that faces the lower surface, a recess part adjacent to the projection part and recessed from the projection part toward the upper portion, and a circumferential edge projection part projecting, around the recess part, toward the facing surface side with respect to the projection part. When the buffer receives a predetermined first load, the circumferential edge projection part contacts the facing surface whereas the projection part has no contact with the facing surface, and when the buffer receives a predetermined second load, which is larger than the first load, the circumferential edge projection part and the projection part contact the facing surface.

    Abstract: A system for managing foot length information of a growing person is to be provided. A foot length information management system includes: a measurement unit that measures foot length; a storage unit that stores multiple patterns of growth curve information; an age information input unit into which age information of a customer is entered; and a growth curve information selecting unit that refers to the age information to select growth curve information corresponding to foot length measured by the measurement unit, from among the multiple patterns of growth curve information. The foot length information management system may further include a recording unit in which past foot length is recorded, and the growth curve information selecting unit may select growth curve information based on foot length recorded in the recording unit and foot length measured by the measurement unit.

    Abstract: In a running style analysis device, a step frequency acquirer acquires, with regard to running of a subject, a slope of a step frequency change with respect to a change in running speed. A step length acquirer acquires, with regard to running of the subject, a slope of a step length change with respect to a change in running speed. A judgment unit calculates a principal component score from the slope of a step frequency change and the slope of a step length change of the subject, based on a principal component analysis model generated in advance based on measurement values of multiple runners and makes, based on the principal component score thus calculated, judgment as to which of multiple running style types, including a long stride type and a high cadence type, running of the subject falls under.

    Abstract: Provided are an insole designing apparatus, an insole designing method, and a program for use in designing an insole replaceable with and used instead of an insole currently used in footwear. The insole designing apparatus designs the insole of the footwear. The insole designing apparatus includes: an input device that receives an input of data; a processing circuitry that calculates design data of the insole based on the data received by the input device; and an output device that outputs the design data calculated by the processing circuitry. The data received by the input device at least includes first data associated with a user's foot shape and second data associated with an inside of the footwear. The processing circuitry calculates the design data based on the first data and the second data.
