Abstract: A recovery route reflector with a monitoring module and a BGP state establishment module is peered with a plurality of primary route reflectors. Each of the plurality of primary route reflectors is peered with a set of provider edge devices. The BGP state between the recovery route reflector and the plurality of primary route reflectors is periodically monitored. When a primary route reflector fails the BGP state between the recovery route reflector and the failed primary route reflectors is idle, and the recovery route reflector establishes a peer session with the provider edge devices that had been peered with the failed route reflector.

Abstract: In one example, a method includes receiving a plurality of network probes originating from a first provider edge router in a service provider network, calculating a plurality of network performance metrics, based on the plurality of network probes, and storing the network performance metrics associated with each network probe of the plurality of network probes in a path metric table, wherein an entry in the path metric table for the each network probe includes a path traveled by the each network probe from the first provider edge router to the processing system, the network performance metrics associated with the each network probe, a community value associated with the each network probe, and a traffic classification value associated with the each network probe.

Abstract: The concepts and technologies disclosed herein provide high availability and high utilization cloud data center architecture for supporting telecommunications services. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a 4-site model of application placement within the cloud computing environment provides 37.5% resource utilization with site availability of five 9s (99.999%) and virtual machine availability of five 9s. According to another aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a 3-site model of application placement within the cloud computing environment provides 66% resource utilization with site availability of five 9s and virtual machine availability of five 9s. According to another aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a 4-site model of application placement within the cloud computing environment provides 75% resource utilization with site availability of five 9s and virtual machine availability of five 9s.
